Gas mileage
My mileage got worse on this tank. 29.2 mpg. I don't know why. I haven't driven differently or varied from my routine. The only difference was I used Chevron instead of BP Amoco gas. This is irritating.

Try and figure that out to compare to the majority of the posters to this thread.
Google will want to use American units whenever possible, and usually it is possible to prefix "imperial" before the unit to switch however I have found that is not the case for converting to mpg. Therefore just use "MetricValue/1.2 in mpg", e.g. "5.6L/100km/1.2 in mpg"

It only reads in American gallons.

Filled up again today - I have a long commute and the gas is much cheaper near my home, so I can't run it down to nearly empty like I'd like...
Anyway - 216.3 miles - put 6.262 in = 34.54168 better than the dealer tank of 33.1 Hoping to see continued improvement.... My goal is to get over 35 consistantly.... Need to check tire pressure this weekend...

I'm in the same boat. I spent two tanks (since my last post) driving like an absolute grandma. Never more than 3k on the tach, and only that much when getting on the freeway onramp. the rest of the time, 2500 rpm or less. No paddles. Yes, it's all been around town driving. Same Exxon station I always use, same grade of gasoline. And so on, and so forth. I STILL can't do better than about 24.5 - 26.5 mpg. That's low, even for the city. Next week, I'll take the FiT on a roadtrip from Nashville to south Florida. That should be several tanks of nothing but cruise-control Interstate. I'll report back after that.
Tell me if you guys have encountered this: I hate using my local gas station's air pump. I have to ask the front clerk to turn it on for me, then as I start inflating my tires, after 5 minutes, it shuts off. I have to ask them again to turn it on.. It gets tiring. I wonder if a foot pump from Walmart works or is it just a hassle? I'm thinking of buying a Battery Jumper/Air Compressor combo for $59. Any thoughts? I figured I could just get the foot pump for $6.00 and do the leg work (get it? ha ha). On the chart it says that it can be used for small vehicles.

I have the combo charger/compressor you are talking about. 1 thing to remember is. The compressor WILL die if it gets too hot. i.e. running too long. Mine died after pumping a raft. let it run too long.

I picked up a foot pump at walmart for $6 and it seems be more convenient then driving to the gas station just for a simple pump to get get a fraction of a PSI in there. You guys should consider one to keep in the trunk. Its light and will come in handy despite the leg work (get it? ha ha). So it turns out my rear tires are at 30 PSI! I upped it to about 38 (cold). For the front tires, they were at 34 PSI so I upped it to 38 as well. I hope theres gonna be some change to the MPG!
I checked my tires, and seems they were pretty low (not sure why). Around 28psi front, 31-32psi rear. The sidewall on my dunlops say max psi of 51. I was wondering what people think should be a good level to run them at.

I'm keeping on the safe side and keeping at 38 PSI.Good luck and keep us posted of any improvements.
I recently upped my tire pressure to 38 psi (cold) all around. I think that's what is helping to improve my gas mileage. I think I will pick up a foot pump too. It's a pain going to the pumps at the gas station. Their pressure gauge is hard to read.
