In late 76 a guy had to buy his wife a new car because her 67 Coupe Deville with new engine, transmission and paint, had the drivers side window stop working at a bank drive through and then wouldn't start after she had gone grocery shopping.... I was working on the loading dock at the post office during the Christmas rush and overheard him talking about it, asked how much and he said he wanted it gone that day and I could have it for $200... The paint looked pretty rough because it had been painted with lacquer and needed to be buffed out The interior looked new and it needed tires which I replaced with used H78 15"s... I bought a rebuilt starter solenoid for $6 and found that the wiring to the drivers door was wrapped in black while sitting at a liquor store checked it out and fixed the window on the spot.... It sat low on the smaller than stock tires and sounded good with duals and glass packs..... I drove it for 2 years and sold it for a pretty good profit. I would love to be able to run into a deal like that right now.

Any Suggestions on some non / low cost MODs i can do? i need to save up for my Megan Racing Exhaust setup
List what mods you all ready have. But lets see Led's for the interior lights, a nice detail, decals, shift knob if urs is a MT, some track time if ur into that, mats if you don't have them, airfreshiner, Tint stirp on the front whindshield i love mine, dead foot pedal. Hmm thats about all i can think of that you might think is cheap. I am saving right now for a couple of mods myself. mainly a J's lip or might mod the stock one a little and a jdm center counsal. But i am about to get some decals and leds in the next couple of weeks

I dropped off to the dealership to pick up some parts I had ordered for the Fit. When I was walking towards the service/parts department this man stopped me and said he loves what I have done to my Fit. He said it was really nice and looked like I had taken a lot of time and thought into the car. I thanked him and told him that I loved the car and was now a die hard Honda owner for life. Showed him a picture of all the trophies that the car had won and he could not believe it. Then he said, oh by the way I am Lester Raines - he owns the dealership. I told him it was an honor to meet him and how much I appreciated how great his service people had been. He said do me favor send me the story of how you found out about the Fit, your modifications and what you won the trophies for. They have a publication that comes out to all the dealerships and he wants to submit my story. I can see the title now,
"Old tuners never die" LOL! Of course I will give out our Unofficial Honda Fit Forum because without this site I would have not known what to expect, what to ask about and definitely would not have been inspired to do the mods that I have done. May not go anywhere but it was nice to be asked.

Cool story. True about this forum though. All the mods I've done were inspired from this site. My girlfriend gets mad because I come on here and then get the urge to go buy more and more parts.

Yeah, that's a good story. Sounds like a pretty cool dealership. Congrats on the props/coverage on/for your Fit too.

How is two burgers and onion rings considered "trick goodies"? Now dish on what you bought for the car dammit! The bodyshop found "hidden damage" that they didn't specify the extent of on mine So I'm Fitless for at least the beginning of this coming week. On a happy note the truck should live again by saturday afternoon

Sorry you are Fitless but the truck ought to ring your bell in the meantime... I had 2 3" exhaust flanges and a 10" long 2 1/2" diameter exhaust resonator I had ordered from THMotorsports arrive at the Fedex store where I also pickup my mail.... I am still fiddling with the exhaust system trying to mellow it out some... I have driven by plenty of cops with them paying no attention to the noise the car is putting out but it drives me nuts at certain RPM... The sound is very low frequency that makes the interior start buzzing and distorts the view through the rear view mirrors and much worse with the A/C in open mode.... It's crazy.... When I put my foot in it and wind it up a bit, it's insanely loud... It is the same type of resonance that there is when numerous military helicopters fly over your house at once... My exhaust system is mostly Megan with Apexi, Vibrant, and Aero Turbine stuff thrown in to quiet it down because I am having a hard time driving at 1/4 to1/3 throttle even if it is still quicker than stock that way.

I had the out of control resonance problem with my 01 Elantra. It drove me crazy as well. I ended up putting a second muffler into the middle of the system after the cat. It was a Magnaflow 10" long 2 1/2 center in and out universl muffler and it did the trick nicely.
