Revs staying high when flooring it?

Hi all, I drive a 2007 honda fit and am just wondering if it's normal or something that is up with my transmission. While I'm driving on the freeway, say at 60 mph, if I suddenly push the accelerator all the way down, the car will shift down and the rpms will stay at around 6k-7k while going up to speed to 80mph until I let go of the accelerator slightly and it seems to shift back into 5th gear. Is it normal for the rev to stick to the 6k-7k for so long? I've checked my transmission fluid and it's still pinkish and full. Transmission changes gears normally if not flooring it.

Thanks guys, appreciate it! I only ask cause I had someone check out my car the other day and stated there was something wrong with my transmission which I found odd since I've never had a problem with the car before. That's a relief for me.

If you keep flooring it past 80 mph, it will eventually shift
