You don't need to use 14, because 16 or even 18 AWG is way more than sufficient for your maplight's current draw. Be sure to pickup stranded, not solid core.

I guess it's easier (and maybe cheaper) for an initial install to be done with the OEM parts.. but this would be great if we could go/find out what we need to go with LED(s).

Anyways, thanks. Something I'd eventually like to do.

Just finished installing Sport Map Lights into my 2010 Base. Went very smoothly and I utilized 2 wires (1 to blue wire and 1 to pink wire) running to dome light. Map lights work independently or come on automatically with dome light when doors are opened. Makes a world of difference in interior light and is easy installation. Ordered all parts from 1sthondaparts.com, Fife, Washington or $40.52 with shipping.
Easy do it yourself job.

I'm looking at an old thread. We you successful in installing map lights on your Honda? Having none in my '09 Fit LX is annoying me to no end. Can you tell me where to start the process please??
