How do you get to the dash tweeters??

How do you get to the dash tweeters??

Hey all,

Just wondering after my testdrive...how does one replace the tweeters in the upper dash??

I saw the 2nd gen for the first time yesterday and I wondered why the hell Honda put tweeters way up there. Tweeters are typically supposed to be pointing at you from the sides.

Guess the only way is to take apart the dash.

Actually, i prefer the tweeters firing up into the windshield, esp. the one in the Fit. This will allow for widening of the music stage. In addition, this allows for everyone in the car to hear sound coming from the front...the stage is in front all passengers.

This type of arrangement is now more and more popular among high end car audio systems...see Lexus Mark Levinson setup.

We might be able to access them from the top - it looks like there's a bezel that snaps onto the deck. So, you just pry the mounting bezel off, remove the tweets from the top - don't drop the wires!! - and replace with tweetery goodness.

This is all conjecture at this point though - I don't get my car for a few more weeks.
