Switched the crank position sensor today. Same problem. WTF causes an engine to think there is a miss when there is no miss. Broken reluctor ring? Shit, my brains. Replaced everything relating to spark and fuel. Injectors, coil packs, plugs, disconnected fic... Still no solution in sight.

Than you thank you thank you, in a stroke of brilliance, I went on break, popped my hood, disconnected the knock sensor, bypassed the FIC, and WOOT it runs like new! I was so convinced it was the ckp I never considered it could be a bad knock sensor. That or I have some vibration in the engine it's mistaking for knock.
I'm so relieved.

Set of 4 Sumitomo HTR A/S P01s in 205/50/16. They are top rated in the UHP All Season category on Consumer Reports. They seemed a little quieter than stock and did really well driving in a downpour on the way home the other day, but haven't driven enough to form an opinion overall about the handling aspects.

Still haven't got the 28 in. I was ready to Go through with it and then the wastegate actuator bracket hit the block and wouldn't allow me to tighten down the manifold/collector. The compressor is a bit larger on the t28 and thus pushes the bracket closer to the engine block. Still thinking about how to make a bracket that gives me enough clearances.

Just replaced my left side high beam bulb. I decided on a whim to start my Fit... and was promptly smacked with a bright yellow DRL light. I'm thinking, what the f?!? The bulb doesn't come on in DRL or high beam mode.

Dug my way into the fuse panel to check two fuses associated with the left side headlight... both weren't blown. So i decided to finally try and figure out how to change the bulb. Took a LONG time, because I inadvertantly unhinged the wire that holds bulb in. Eventually I got it back i, but still couldn't get it to lock in. Gave up and decided to use my camera to take a snap shot, but I couldn't make heads or tails of the view. Decided on rotating the bulb 180°... and viola, everything went easier. The light works!

Now I have one whitish and one yellowish high beam bulbs. I'd replace the other side, but of the three H1 bulbs I found, only 1 wasn't blown.

So, I need to buy some H1 bulbs in case either decides to blow during my trip. And eventually fish that yellow fuse "remover" that fell into the panel behind the hood release handle.

Its strange... when you look at it in person, you can quite easily tell the difference. You can even tell in bright day light, though not as easily. But when taking photos of it, its harder to show the difference. I uploaded a picture to my junk folder, the only way (for me) to spot the difference in the pic is to look at the edge of the light. One has a touch of white/blue while the other has a touch of yellow.

Yay, my room is flooding (again) right now. And here I am half a country away.

I'm stalled in Palo Alto, my sister's place. She and her husband thinks it'd be a better idea to leave on Monday, I have no idea how this is affecting my chances of finishing the whole trip in 4-6 weeks. I mean, I can cut part of the trip, but the only part is Key West... but I really want to go see it just for the first hand experience.

If i had kept the pace I was before getting here, I would've already been in San Diego... probably ready to leave for the Grand Canyon. But, then again, I might end up staying a few days in SD too. So, looking more and more that i'll have to cut KW out. :|

PS, my sister even brought up the idea of me moving out here... this place is hella expensive... that even if i had a decently paying job, I'd still have to live with my sister and her family. I guess a wife would be good idea... to share in the expenses and hopefully not add onto them.

That sounds like a blast, you would enjoy the drive to the keys for the bridge alone if nothing else!

I've been to nearly 40 of our 50 states, but that was over the course of about 8 years worth of road trips and your going to do that in a month and a half!

As far as a wife and not adding expenses.. I have been with my woman for 5 years and love her to death but with few exceptions being in a relationship has proven more expensive.

It also puts a damper on your control over how you proportion your own wants and needs. Adds aggravations as well. Fights over silly things. In the end it really comes down to what works for you. Fortunately we can always step back take a breath and work stuff out, but sometimes it'll leave you longing to be single again.

Do what works for you. I hate to say it, but you have freedom to do whatever the f*ck you like when you like to. Barring other financial/work/family obligations that is. Occasionally I find myself missing that.

The trick is to find someone you can be compatible with.

As a wise man once told me "Just remember whatever you do... never stick your dick in crazy" so if you think marriage is what you want take your time and don't settle.

LOL @ me giving relationship advice... hope it helps anyways! Glad the trip is going well and youre getting around safely, hit me up when you get back! I still owe you a ride in the 1G!

Today I changed my oil and put in almost 4qts of conventional 5W-20 and a new FRAM filter. Next oil change will be synthetic.

I also installed 2 of 5 of my TT KMR Chassis Bars - Lower Tie Brace and 4pt Sub Frame brace are now attached. I had to use a couple washers on the 4 pt brace to clear the stock cross brace that was attached a little further back.

Next weekend I believe I will be getting my APEX`i N1 Coilovers installed with my TT KMR Rear Sway and Strut Brace from a local shop. I decided I don't comfortably have the time, knowledge or assistance to do this myself so I will let the pro's do this one.

All thats left after that are my rear mud flaps and oil catch can. I am still deciding what I want to do with my CF vinyl...

Does anyone else ever have people ask/think that our cars are fast? lol
