Been a little bit since I posted! Took a couple pictures of the car but realized how dirty it is so I'm gonna post the one where it doesnt look so horrible! Would have wiped it down but my back is terribly sunburned, lol.
Took my boy out for a haircut today... and its all over my seats now :s


Someone backed into my front bumper a little while ago.. which is ok because its trashed anyways. Need to replace it soon.. trying to find one already paint matched at a good price with a good fitment has been a little rough, even with my connections for auto body parts haha.

 

I actually got a tip on the hose. Apparently rubbing alcohol on the metal helps the hose slide on then evaporates. Not sure on the clamp size, I used the one on the oem airbox and just picked up a matching.

I suggest that when you install your new one you can use a pair of pliers or even a wrench to tighten down the antenna so that one can not simply twist it off by hand.

 

So I purchased a 2009 Black fit base the other day and every, I mean every, surface that could be burned with a cigarette, was... I don't know what they did in this car but holy cow. So...I went about searching for some seats and carpet and a console.

So that's what I did with my Fit today. I put in new seats (front and rear), console, shifter, shifter bezel, emergency brake handle. I'm waiting on the lower glove box and carpet for a nice sunny day (today was a bit rainy).

Monday I put new tires on her. Searching for door trim and a clean headliner if anyone has 'em

Today I finished retrofitting the honda factory cruise control. Did some research and found that this retrofit was possible. My car had the cruise lights in the gauge cluster (did the diagnostic check) and was prewired for cruise control (wired from steering wheel to cluster, to brake light switch, to ecu) so I figured it was a simple install of steering wheel with cruise control buttons and spiral assy. Cruise control did not work with those parts installed and I was stuck for 4 months thinking the ECU needed to be cruise control compatible...

Yesterday it just struck me that I did not check if the brake light switch was a 4-pin for cruise control... I unplugged the switch and it was a 2-pin so the cruise control wires were not connecting. Today bought the 4-pin switch and cruise control is now working!

Really glad I did the factory cruise control retrofit route as the parts cost a third of what an aftermarket kit would have cost.

 

Things are moving at the port again, so they estimate 2 weeks transit time starting now. It's a good thing I was planning ahead and didn't need these in a hurry. It's been 5 weeks already since I ordered them.

Shipment was very quick and the antenna came with copper wire and all that.
Installation needed a little workaround though, since you have to make your own template to measure the placement.
