The 3 holes I drilled. 3rd hole is at the top left corner of the bracket - lighting makes it hard to see.
RivetNuts placed.
Bolting in the MeLe mount.
Done! Almost...
Placed rubber cushions to mitigate spot-wear of the Braille battery.
I ran into one more issue...
The battery positive terminal sat too low, and the (+) terminal clamp would not effectively attach to the battery. So placed a bunch of washers to raise the (+) battery terminal so the clamp would attach firmly and clear the MeLe mount hold-down. It's solid now.
Finished!
I inadvertently bought the wrong kind of Braille G30 battery for my 2014 Ford Fiesta ST.
Summit Racing would not take the battery back.
So I decided to make lemonade out of lemons after talking with Mitch at MeLe Design Firm to see if he might have a mount that would fit into my 2009 Fit. I took some measurements, sent them to him and he suggested the ATX 30 Rally Spec battery mount.
Series if pics shows mounting the Braille battery in the battery mount in the Fit. Had to trim a tab off the back part of the OEM bracket after removing the bucket. Drilled 3/8" holes in the bracket and used M6 RivetNuts to hold down the new mount. Overall, a pretty easy install and it removed over 15 pounds from the front of the car.

Great idea! Much improved battery capacity now, and your install looks clean and proper. I gotta say, I'm glad this forum is still somewhat alive. After researching Fits 2 years ago, this forum's info and enthusiasm for the car really influenced my decision to buy a GE8. Reddit has a decent Honda Fit section, but I find this format much more useful, searchable, and informative by a long shot. I hope we can keep it going, there is a wealth of information here so vast, the other forums could not possibly replace this. I need to make an effort to post more myself.

So the week before last, I decided to use the legendary words of "watch this" when launching the GE8. This was out of curiosity of how much tracción hop the recently installed Hasport 70A torque arm mount reduces...
The outer CV joint decided against it and exited the chat. So I had a local friend help me flat tow the car to work and ordered an axle from Rockauto that day.
Fast forward to last Saturday, I disassembled the vehicle to access and replace the axle. During which time various rust ridden bolts and sensors were either snapping or firmly corroded in place. At which point, I promptly became peeved and chucked a few goods that I had collected over the years.
With it all said and done, the passenger axle is replaced... along with the front struts (Bilsteins, already had Swift lowering springs)... and the knuckles (2016 CR-Z)... and front brake calipers (Hyundai Genesis Coupe Brembos)... and StopTech pads from a FK8 Civic Type R... with 3 row Nissan Rouge front rotors.
Brakes are overkill for the car at this time BUT I needed it off my lift at work and didn't feel like spending cash that day.🙃 also tossed on my CR-Z's secondary wheelset that I use for autocross up front. 17x8 Enkie TS-10s with 6mm spacers to clear the calipers wrapped in some old 225/45R17 Bridgestone RE71Rs.
Si! It is in passive hibernation and needs a simple refresh.
Needs new coilovers as well as has minor coolant and transmission leaks since NONE of the seals (except valve cover gasket during valve adjustments) have been replaced over the 18+ years of having it. Leaning towards a drivetrain out, clean/reseal and enjoy it as is w/ the Rotrex on it since its HARD to find a similarly clean GD these days... Let alone a boosted one.

Installed new coil's and spark plugs.
So somewhat crazy thing, the 3rd coil from the passenger side to the drivers moving from left to right facing the engine from the front of the car, had no boot at the bottom of the coil. What I mean is the numb at the bottom of the I suppose silicon shaft that acts as the "plug wire" in a COP setup... was missing... funny thing is I had found it before I pulled that coil. it was some how wedged between the cylinder head and coil #2 the one before it... Soooo someone had installed the 3rd coil without it or it got knocked off on install somehow? Or knocked off on removal and they couldn't find it so said screw it and installed it without replacing it. Which makes me wonder if this was maybe the real reason it would occasionally miss at a low rpm and high load say cruising up a hill or REALLY bad sometimes when it rained.... Oh well, replaced the old plugs which were at least Denso's though they were the platinums and looked fairly worn. With the new OEM Denso iridium plugs and coil's she actually starts faster and runs noticeably smoother, as in... I didn't realize it was as noticeable as it is, until after the fact. It's not night and day or anything, but I could tell that it was unlikely to just be in my head. Sooo really looking forward to see what kind of mpg I can squeeze out of it now. 45.6mpg highway was my best out of it yet. Which I'm very happy with.
I plan to do mine as well soon too. These cars tend.to need it. Lol. So many windows. I had one place quote me nearly 700.00. doubtful I want to spend that much just on tint for this car though. Need to shop around a bit. I don't want to go to dark. 30 or 35% would suffice for me..
I finally got bit by the stuck hatch handle issue.... I guess on an otherwise rust-free car there's just gotta be rust hiding somewhere. A ten-minute repair, after waiting four days for Amazon to deliver my new handle. I shouldn't complain, it was way cheaper than the $80 or so the dealer wants for it.

I got my 2013 done last month. I got all windows tinted including the windshield for around $750 I think. That included removal of old tint as well. I think about $250 less if there is not any old tint. In DFW for reference. Nice geoshield tint as well looks great
After my OEM Honda battery (purchased in 2016!) conked out last month, I decided to install a larger battery. Trolling previous forums, I purchased an Amazon battery tray and a Duracell 51R battery. With a little trimming/modification of the tray, and the positive terminal clamp, it's a snug fit, but looks almost OEM! More CCA than the OEM, but the OEM warranty was 100 months, whereas the Duracell is only 3!! Trimmed the plastic housing for the positive terminal clamp & rotated it ninety degrees, as there wasn't enough room with the bigger battery. Constructed a "C" connection to restore the power connection to the rest of the terminal block The cover no longer snugs down over the clamp, but covers the rest of the terminal block. Snug fit, but almost looks OEM!
