I'm going to update this thread again! Since the last time I posted here, I've installed my Progress RSB, replaced my Swift Springs with a proper set of coilovers, replaced my Kuhmo tires with proper Continental Extreme Contacts. Also a while back I also replaced the USDM tails with JDM tails, did my sparkplugs and that's about all. I still haven't taken pics of the coilover installation results(Tein Street Basis Zs, and I don't care what anyone else may say, these have made my car BETTER than it was when I bought it) since I'm going to set the final ride height about the same as it was with the Swifts maybe even a little higher. I still haven't decided since I haven't gone on any long drives yet. I just have to get the car aligned, install the camber bolts as well, since for some reason during the damper installation I couldn't get the blasted bolts into the knuckle.
Immediate future plans are the CDV delete(Parts from Seb's Garage), FINALLY getting the car repainted, wrapping the headlights in PPF since I'm sick of polishing every 2-3 months, doing the valve adjustments, and getting the cruise control fixed since I've been living for four years now without and it's driving me crazy.
I also plan on doing an in-depth review of the coilovers since the improvement to my car has been not so much dramatic as just a breath of fresh air because of how terrible the past year has been riding on Swifts/ new wheels/ blown dampers. While I will still recommend Swifts to anyone who asks, I will also recommend that the dampers get replaced as well because you really have to do both in tandem, otherwise you're asking for headaches. I'll be back folks, have a great one!
Note: The picture is from a few months ago, but it's the only one I have where you can see the tails installed.

That’s a lot done, and a bit pricy for me Since I’ve hand my 2007 Fit Sport 6 months. I’ve replaced both axles, struts, wheel bearings, and just did a complete brake on front. An all my stuff was for stock specs. This weekend I’m sand blasting calipers & drums for paint.
I’ve looked into the cold air intake you suggested, Zero1000. I like it a lot. It’s looking to be my next fun purchase. Thanks.
My exhaust sounds like it does have issues. So I’m considering a new one. After a factory cat & pipe, what muffles would be a good choice? Giving me a bit of attitude, but still easy on the ears at 4am, when I’m driving to work?
Finally, I’ve been practicing with my flappy paddles. Call my silly, but I love slipping to Sport mode, and hitting some 5500 revs. Although, I’ve yet to set off my Insurances baby sitter in the OSB, for over acceleration. But it’s fun as hell.
I love your posts and you’ve been a great help to a guy who’s only owned domestic. Thanks
I installed the Start X remote start today, works like a charm. Also got the harness and parts ready for the radio swap. I will be doing the homelink mod soon, so the little microphone area in the home link, I'll be utilizing to somehow fit the microphone that came with the Kenwood unit.
Scored this homelink yesterday. Since I'm using the microphone that comes with the Kenwood unit im using, I wanted to hide it inside the existing microphone area of the homelink. Now I just have to get the base for the maplight, i'll try visiting the dismantling yard this week.
As you can see the old microphone next to the new one. broke this tabs off Added double sided tape, so it wont move around. Finished product
Went back to the dismantling yard to take the steering wheel off the fit, and found a civic with the audio controls. So I can wire this up and once it's done I'll just swap it.
Got the red emblems in today. Instead of cutting off the tabs. I used some of my wife's lipstick and painted the little tabs on the back and pressed against the grille to leave the mark. Drilled and done.
Just need those little pressure clips to keep it even tighter.
Also, lube the holes! Really great idea to lube the tow hooks holes once a year. Shoot some anti-rust/lubricant in there. Wait a bit. Thread the tow hooks completely (might need to use a bar to help with torque). Remove tow hook, then shoot some more anti-rust/lubricant and be done for the year.
And at least you'll now you'll be able to use them if needed!
- Checked the towing hooks and points to be sure they were not rusty, Gave them a tiny bit of lube. Screwed the hook in and out a few times at both points. (thanks for the reminder @Frenzal!)
- Trying out old phones to see if I can fabricate a cheap HUD.
- Cleaned the engine with P21S

Is that dash trim OEM or one of those Metra kits? I have the OEM in my car but the trim ring never did quite fit right.
If any Canadian who live near Montreal is interested, PM me. Car is a 2014 Fit Sport AT with 126000 km in super great shape, comes all equipped with summer and winter wheels/tires and lot of spare parts. Nothing to do on the car right now.
This week I put the Fit in the shop and had some work done which was overdue. The valve clearances hadn't been adjusted since around 75k, and now I'm at 225k. Not causing problems, but not something to leave ignored. Also got a fresh set of Iridiums and Hitachi coils. Fresh Gates serpentine belt and tensioner assembly. The bearing sometimes be squeaky during cold weather, and the belt was pretty oxidized, so rather be safe.
Replaced the rear brake shoes, hardware and wheel cylinders, flush and bleed them. Finally, BG fuel induction service to clean up the throttle body and make sure everything is nice and fresh, and an OEM Honda air filter.
I got parts from RockAuto and the shop did the installation. What a difference afterward. Now with the valves correctly set, that wonderful sound of a well-adjusted machine is back again, and no worries about burnt valves or stressing the coils. Listen to her purr now!
Mileage is about 38/35, not bad for a 225k daily driver. Plenty of zip if you stuff your foot in it. Well worth the money spent to keep things maintained.

Reason: Better description
That's got to give you a good feeling, getting all that done. Sounds nice and smooth too.
Mine is similar, a 2009 with 235k miles, and within the last last couple months I had similar work done. Had a shop do the plugs, coils and serpentine belt - I did transmission drain and fill, oil and air filter. Also swapped all the lights out to LED save for the blinkers, nice and bright!
I also installed a steering wheel cover and matching floor mats. The mats are universal so the drivers one had been sliding around a bit. I drilled a hole in the mat and secured it from sliding forward by using a black cord to secure it to the drivers seat mount, seems to work well.
Next I'm waiting for some warmer weather to address all the small little dings on the hood with some touch up paint I ordered. I also need to pull a wheel or two and see how the brakes look ... definitely notice some dust accumulating on the front wheels.
Added on Edit:
Forgot to mention I also had a install a door lock actuator on the passenger side door, was causing the dreaded doors repeatedly trying to lock/unlock. Interestingly the $25 Chinese unit I bought off of amazon did NOT have the hole to attach the manual door lock cable... I guess sometime during the Gen 2 they stopped using manual locks on the passenger side? Other than that it works fine.
Oh, and probably my favorite mod to date was reading (I think on this glorious forum) that all I had to do was purchase a blank key (Again off of Amazon for $14) and quickly program it, (simple to do) and I now have a keyless remote for the locking or unlocking the doors - Love that!
Finally, I also bought an armrest off of AliExpress for $23 (Amazon wanted over $50 for exact same one) and I'm loving that as well.

Reason: Adding more detail
Mine is a 2009 base automatic. I, too had to replace the right rear door lock actuator a few years back. Getting those large Phillips screws out to remove it requires an impact driver, be careful you don't push the door metal in, a lot of force needed to move them.
I used Power Stop shoes/hardware kit for the rear brakes, and I love EBC green pads for the front discs, they don't glaze and lose grip. A bit of dust, but it cleans off easily. A while back I got new steel rims and sprayed them in Rustoleum black. Years later they look brand new, unlike the thin factory paint that rusts through so easily and just looks nasty.
I too have LEDs for the headlights and others, just wish they would work with the turn signals, but you need to cut and install a resistor for that. The wiring harness is so tight I'm afraid to mess it up.
Another thing yet to do is replace the driver's seat, as the vinyl (?) has split from getting in and out, and I've been Gorilla-taping it for now. Have to find a good front pair from a salvage yard I hope. They're the grey imitation (not real leather), I wouldn't mind the fabric or velour type. If it weren't for the airbags in the bolsters I'd have it recovered at an upholstery shop.
Nice hearing how similar are fits are gkitf16. Mine is also an auto.
I guess I was lucky as the previous owner had apparently fiddled with the passenger door previously as I didn't have an issue removing those screws. He (or a shop) had obviously removed them before. Anyhow I was sure to use a #3 bit with T-handle. My biggest issue was I found the black plastic clip which supposedly locks the actuator arm onto the door handle in the bottom of the door. After messing with it I could see why, no way did it want to fit over the end of the rod so I also left it off. But, like I said it's all working well now, except for the manual lock which isn't connected to anything.
Did you by chance see that remote mod? I love not having to use the key in the door locks, saves wear and tear on them. And funny you mention it, I definitely noticed my steel wheels are rusting a bit too, has been on my bucket list. Do you still run your hubcaps? I will keep mine, I'm just not a fan of the bare steel wheels but I want to paint mine black as you did with yours.
Thanks for the advice on brake shoes too, I will look for them when I get to replacing ... curious if they are ceramic, I will look them up later, (EBC).
Yeah, having to install a resistor is why I didn't swap out the blinker lights with LED's. For the headlights I simply pulled the DRL fuse - I like it better that way anyhow, when my switch says "OFF" my headlights are actually off! Luckily my upholstery (fabric) is still manageable, hope you can get yours upgraded to a satisfactory level.
Oh, and finally I did put a piece of black tape on my dash to cover the dreaded tpms warning light, ugh!
Here is the thread about making your own auto remote on the cheap, like I said Amazon has the blank keys for $14 and I think for another 6 or 7 you can buy a blank cover so you don't need to cut off the metal shaft
