Carbon Fiber look ( actually rubber ) corner protection pads.
Whilst the rear corners NEEDed protection, due to prior ( to me ) scrapes. They also weren't anywhere near flat
rubber pads for the bottom of the front doors
Rubber front wiper hole covers

to this. Only the small piece FITted, purrfectly. When trying to fit the larger part, the pressure from the wiper arm, made the outside of the rubber misFITing, due to gaps allowing dirt, etc entry.

Fitted a dash sun reflection eliminator.

Whilst it fitted. that was not purrfect.
I needed to enlarge
- the vent holes, nearest the front quarter light
- the auto lights sensor hole.
I also removed the strips partially covering the front dash vent. And replaced the useless velcro squares supplied, with larger & stickier bits.
It is a much needed upgrade, at a very cost effective NZ$21.46 delivered.
@NSC858 Dude, got any links for that backup cam set-up? That looks sweeeeeeet.
i went with this company. https://www.grdian.com/shop. I went with this one because there was sonebody I follow on IG who had a discount code (JENNA). I was also debating between two companies Grdian and Wolfbox. Grdian got my vote because they are pretty responsive on their online chat, and assured me that the rear camera could even withstand a carwash and if it had any issues theyd replace it for free.
The overall installation was pretty easy. The hardest part was removing the hatch door cover.
There's another option for the WOLFBOX G850 4K Mirror Dash Cam: 12'' Rear View Mirror https://a.co/d/f6MNI9X. Theres a slightly cheaper version but I don't think the rear camera on that one is weatherproof.
That's a huge help, thank you so much. I've been looking at head units to function as the screen, but I'd be spending 2-400 just on the head unit, trying to figure out a matching camera..

Any issues with this unit so far?
Yeah I thought about getting an aftermarket head unit... but then i thought that might open the can of worms where I will want to upgrade my speakers... maybe add a sub. But really didnt think it was worth it since 90% of the time my kids want to listen to their kids songs.
But so far the only issue that Ive had was my mirror was a bit loose on the Fit. I was about to buy a new mirror but found a cheap but affective hack.
So far it works pretty good. Hit a few bumps to test how it would hold up and it holds pretty well amd hasnt flopped.
The camera works pretty good. Its been raining here so the rear camera has been exposed and has been holding up pretty well. Curious to see how it would handle with a car wash but it will be raining for awhile so wont get to test that.
I thought it would be useful to have it constantly on, but Ive been turning off the screen and using the mirror most of the time because I need to see my kids. But it is nice that it is triggered when my car is in reverse. It works really well and is pretty accurate and a whole lot better than having to look.
The UI is pretty easy to navigate. No weird issues Ive experienced just yet. I have the GPS option, but dont think it is all that useful. I was thinking it was going to have a navigation feature, but it doesnt... so if i were to do it over I would have opted out with getting the GPS.
insulated the rear door, against undesirable sounds
Tapping on the outside of each insulated panel, returns the desirable dull thud sound. Comprehensive, yet not complete Comprehensive, yet not complete
@NSC858 You just answered every question I had. I wasn't going to ask expecting to be told to do my own legwork. That's some high-class community service right there. If I may bother you with just one more: how is the camera shut off? I share vehicles with an older family member who would give me hell if it was too technical
Thank you thank you thank you! And if you want me to do my own leg work on this one I will.
I busted up when reading your reason for not upgrading your sound system by the way. That's some smart parenting.
