I do have a friend that also has a GE next time he's over I'll take reading and see if there is a difference.
I would not call them opposite results, they are similar, just one being more extensive than the other. I do agree with Lyon, however, I am operating under a different premise. I like to keep the car looking as close to stock. I am also not too worried about the accessories, they operate well already. Lyon is into the aftermarket stereo scene, and under that premise, all 3 would definitely need to be upgraded. My 96 GMC Suburban used a 10 gauge wire between the alternator and battery (a 105 Amp alternator). I definitely upgraded the big three on that vehicle, but there was more need for me on that vehicle. If i start adding more loads on the Fit's electrical system, I will consider more upgrades. Until then, Ill stick to the problems I see.

He advocates a more extensive modification. I, as one poster stated, keep it simple. Reference all of my other mods. See a theme there. I am less willing to cut into this new car than i am older vehicles. You are free to perform the upgrade at the level you see fit. But we both DID show you the issue, and gave you an option to fix.

I bought the cable yesterday and I'm going to put it in this evening. I feel like Wal-Mart is going to have an unexplained rise in sales of battery cable. lol

i was thinking mounting it in one of these three point. #1 seems to have a wire going further in ( don't know where ). i think #3 might be a little to far to reach. what do you folks think?

If you have a fit sport there is an excellent body ground point behind the driver side fog light if you are also looking for another stealth body ground. Three or more harness ground wires go to one ground bolt there.... to remove the fog light simply inscrew the single visible 10mm bolt on the fog housing.

it MIGHT only be worth it if it's free and low hassle i.e. using an old extension cord or anything electrical that u were going to throw out anyways and u were already working on the car with some spare time.
otherwise..

Tried to rep you but it says I have to spread it around some more. Thanks for the DIY!

I finally got to this mod last weekend, done in less than 5 minutes. But I could only find that cable at Walmart. Local auto parts store didn't have anything close enough.

Wanted to get this done before I start my other electrical mods.... call me paranoid but better safe than sorry.

Go to his dedicated website ---> www.fitmods.com and click the ground improvement mod from there.
It's complete with pics and everything.

It's basically just an additional grounding cable from the neg battery terminal to the engine block.

I'm usually skeptical of the value of grounding mods, but I'll think I'll do this one. Cheers.

This is just one of the "Big Three" that audio tuners do. I do it on all my cars.

As long as the ground wire is larger than the power wire, you're set.

I typically go for 1/0 that can be had for $5/foot, which is all you really need.
