The Wink mirror has been a standard for lane-changing demons for long over thirty years; my former brother in law stuffed one in a Pinto.

I've thought about one, tho' I don't run that much traffic, which is their main purpose.

How do they work at night? Most of you guys never drove a car WITHOUT a day/night mirror; unless there is some provision for night use, you'll end up blinded and having way too much information.

Blinded?

Blinded? I've had them on all of my cars since the '70's and I don't get "Blinded at night." Have you used one before? Did you buy the Wink brand? The panels on my Wink brand mirrors do not seem to reflect any harsh, blinding rays of light. ...Maybe my eyes aren't as sensitive as your's.
As for putting a blue tint on you mirror, hmm... That might look pretty good though!

so, i got the mirror up in the car tonight. i don't know why ppl were saying it can't be done without ruining the headliner, or drillin holes or this and that. it was a pretty simple job. i'll have more pics up tomorrow when i get home from work. its dark, i was able to snap a pic of it before i left my buddies place. i took pics for the DIY, i'll have them posted in another thread tomorrow. so far, i love it. i'll be in more detail as the days go on.

I just hate the cut offs from mirror to mirror... Cant stand it... I however love the 440MM broadway I have, Ive used it in 5 vehicles and cant go without one now haha! Plus I can still flip it down if the vehicle behind me is blinding me!

I replied to this thread because another thread (newer one) links to here. Just adding some knowledge.

I don't like winks, nor broadway mirrors. I use the below. Read about them. really nice. and if you but the wink Oem like mirror mount, you can not rig your visors and such, works JUST like oem.

I used the windshield mounting kits instead, looks a little cleaner since the OEM visors are still in place. The only thing is that when the visors are down, you can't see anything out of the wink.

if i took my wink town, and wanted to put the visors back in....no problem. they just snap in, and turn.

As a really old guy, I can remember putting Winks in cars in the 70's. Cab drivers used them in New York. Robert Winkelmann invented it. You might have to fab your own brackets to stiffen them up enough to stop the vibration, and use the tripod system as discussed above.
