Took off my front plate. Also spotted a 12' OBM Sport MT at the local super market and parked next to it.

I think it depends on your country. The car's also called a Jazz here in Australia (JDM i believe) for me, but we don't have the sunroof option.. "The vehicle is known as the Fit in Japan, China, as well as in Americas. It is called the Jazz in Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, South East Asia, India, and Africa." - wikipedia. I think sunroof and those extra options are only available for the european market..?

Anyone know of a supercharger option for the 2012 AT

Motor Trend Magazine Review
I just received the Motor Trend magazine and they reviewed economy five-door hatchbacks. They rated the Hyundai Accent the best with the Fit in fourth place. Their primary criticism was with the highway ride and noise. We have a automatic and recently had a 500 mile trip which was mostly freeway driving. At 70 mph, and the rpm at around 2600, the car was remarkably quiet and we found the car was excellent on the longer road trip.

Didn't Motor Trend name the Passat the car of the year? MotorTrend's 2012 Car of the Year is an epic win for mediocrity Whatever Motor Trend, the Fit is a great car. I love it! :) |
If they think the 2012 isn't quiet, they should try the 09. The difference in quiet is...deafening. The 09 was almost like driving with the windows open. The 2012 is GREATLY improved. Quiet, and more insulated as well. I don't have to keep the heat as high on cold day/nights. The cab insulation has been greatly improved and is very noticeable if you know your Fits.
|
^ True story, my 2012 is MUCH quieter than my 2009. One of the very first things I noticed; the 09-11's are really noisy on the freeway.
|
Besides insulation, usually tires make a great difference in noise, did they change brand or type over those years?
Placed order for new Base automatic, 6-8 weeks til it comes in, seems inventory is short in Florida. |
^ Nope, still comes stock with the dunlops here in NY. Had them on my 09, have them on my 2012. And I happen to like them actually. But that's me.
|
My California 2012 Fit Sport has the Dunlops. I find it clever that the wheels have a grayish tint which should reduce the appearance of brake dust.
|
My car has Bridgestone Turanza tires.

"The clutch is light but with long travel and almost no feel. The shifter’s throws are also long and somewhat sloppy, not nearly as precise as the Fit’s or Toyota Yaris’s. Worse, the Accent pitches and pole-vaults on its spongy springs, and path control is a game of chance even before you factor in the weird steering. Just off-center, effort waxes, then wanes, then suddenly waxes again. Turning briskly into corners is like playing a slot machine. At first, it’s vaguely amusing. Then you lose." http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/best-small-cars-two-great-two-good-and-two-more-comparison-test |
Hi Guys, first post!
Almost a month ago I purchased my 2012 base auto in Silver and I love the car so far. I test drove the manual, but was reminded how much I don't like rowing the gears day to day. That said, the manual gearbox is quite nice and I actually had to think about it for a few days before deciding on the auto. I traded in a 2001 civic with 125k miles (which gave me zero problems in 11 years) plus some cash towards the Fit. I had planned on driving the civic "into the ground", but the dealership offered quite a bit more than what I knew it was worth when I test drove the Fit and that sealed the deal. Initial thoughts after driving the car for a month are positive. Aside from the ugly hubcapped steel wheels which I plan on replacing ASAP, it looks great. I'm so glad they stuck with traditional gauges on the dash. I absolutely despise the digital speedometer in the civic and crz (which my girlfriend has) and was glad to see it absent from the Fit. The blue is very nice looking. I wasn't a fan of the darker gray paint offered in previous Fit's and I really like the Silver I bought. The photos of the interior on the Honda website make the interior look much lighter than it actually is. It's a great looking color overall. Also, the heating and cooling gauges are simple, sized perfectly and to the point. Her CRZ's heating/cooling control's are small, 50x more difficult to adjust and overall annoying (mostly because she think's she needs to set the temp to 85 to warm up faster). The auto transmission is nice and has yet to deny me power when I needed it. This car really seems like it has more power than what it's rated at. I can definitely see the increase in torque up steep hills (which there are a lot of around here) compared to the civic. Plus, I've had to step on it to get around people on the highway a few times and have yet to be disappointed. Also, it can cruise at 80 mph no problem. The civic sounded like a freight train at 80. This car is like a sound vacuum in comparison. The suspension might be my favorite part of this car. I completely expected it to have that trademark rough Honda ride, but it's quite the opposite. It's tight around turns and very comfortable for a sub-compact. I've drove everything from Jag's to Mercedes (I work in the auto biz) and I'm quite impressed with the ride in this car. Obviously it's not like riding around in a XJR, but compared to the 01 civic (and 97 civic I had before it), it's in a class of it's own. Further more, the size of the car when looking from the outside compared to sitting in it is like looking at a mirage. Honda has really maximized every inch in here. The folding seats are fantastic, the hatch has an actual latch and not an idiotic button like on the CRZ, and the headroom never ends on this thing. My only complaints are few. First, the A-Pillar is quite thick and produces a blind spot on left turns of a certain angle. The extra window helps a little, but not too much to be honest. I've began compensating by moving my head to the right on certain turns (oh no! not moving your head....I know...lol). I'm getting used to it more everday though. Secondly, the dash is a mile long and I'm going to need some kind of telescoping arm to clean the thing. Lastly, there is an annoying click (I'm guessing a solenoid switching off or something) when triggering the wipers manually (by moving the lever up for one pass in very light rain). Overall...very happy! |
Picked up a 2012 fit sport in white last saturday and i have to say that i am very pleased with my purchase. My last car was a 2005 toyota camry and i hated being seen in that car. I felt like it was a car that was better suited for a grandma. Definitely not for me. Everything changed when i got into an accident while driving on the freeway last month (got hit by a drunk driver) and the dude completely totaled my car. This was totally a blessing in disguise because I was able to get a new car out of such a messed up situation.
Now that I got my new fit, i got big plans in store for it. First thing i did was get a nice dark tint on my windows. The next thing i wanna do is get it lowered then after i'm done with that i have no idea what to do next. |
^^ I had a woman stop me the other day and ask how I like my Fit. I of course said I love it. She went on to say the Fit saved her sons life recently. He got in an accident and rolled the car multiple times. He walked away without serious injury- attributed to the airbags system.
So not only do you have a new Fit out of the unfortunate accident, you have a car that will likely save your life if another moron crosses your path again. Enjoy and may you have safe driving. :vtec: |
