2009 Fit
Just LOOOOOOOOOOVE this little beauty!!! Already done about 22K miles since Aug. 1, can't get enough of the paddle shifters especially when passing slow-moving objects
This month I plan on upgrading to 16x7 205/45R16 rims/tires (still have to decide on the correct offset), all I miss is folding side mirrors (as I live in a freaking congested multicultural city where people get the driving licence based on their LACK of driving skills
) and, maybe, a smaller rear bumper... other than that, open road, here I come

No idea how this car looks for the Japanese market, all I know is that the NA model is bigger than the Jazz and so on...
Chris
Maybe I used the wrong word, folding, I meant same as some p/u trucks have the side mirrors, when you park your vehicle (the large one mostly) just manually roll in the side mirror towards the window so nobody will drive close and take your mirror with him/her...

And the NA Fit isn't any bigger than the rest of the world's Fit/Jazz's -- just the front and rear have been slightly extended to fit the hardware needed to meet NA crash reqmnts.
You can do that with the Fit's mirrors as well. That's why there a separation betweent the stalk/base of the mirror and the body of it -- it the pivot point. Just grab it and fold it in.

, tomorrow when I'll jump in the car first thing I'll look in the manual to see if this thing is clearly mentioned under the side mirror (or whatever) section... it's great that we can roll the side mirrors, especially when you live in super-congested city... thanks a lot again
And about the bigger/smaller Fit Sport vs. Jazz VTi-S issue, as per

I don't know about the new fit concept. From the pictures that were posted, it looks like they're trying to do a big change to the front end. I really wish they would leave the front end alone (thats my favorite part of the fit). It distinguishes it from a lot of similar cars.
What I think needs a little bit of work is the back.. looks too much like a minivan from the rear, maybe make it a bit more sporty/aggresive. I have to say though, even if they come out with a new model, I'm glad I bought mine when I did.

I haven't seen this version yet (see link, replay 'ParakitoJDM', 04-07-2007), but if they are still late, it won’t be the finale version either!?

The 08' Accord will be a full re-design, but we've only seen a concept of the two door model. So if the NA bound Fit get's a re-design for 08', we may not see pictures of it until this summer.
Wait for the 2008 or buy now?
I'm the original owner of a 1995 Civic CX hatch with 192,000 miles now. Last week crud from the oil pan clogged the oil pickup and I lost all oil pressure. $277 of cleaning and its still running. Mechanic told me to baby it for 2 weeks and if it survives, the I didn't kill it.
I've been keeping an eye on the Fit since before the NA intro, but since my CX Hatch keeps getting 36-40mpg I saw no reason to get a car payment on a car that gets worse mileage than my 12 yr old Civic.
Is there any details on when we'll know if there will be a FMC for the US, fall of 2007?

Temple of VTEC Rumors and News - 2008 Honda Preview
Fit As anticipated, the Fit has been selling very well, easily surpassing Honda's conservative initial projections - limited strictly by supply. The next generation Fit is due to be launched soon in Japan but it's not likely that we'll see a version of it over here for some time. There had been some speculation that the new Honda plant in Indiana might begin domestic production of next-generation Fits to save costs, but Honda announced recently that the Civic would be built there first. This announcement seems to indicate that the current US Fit may be in the lineup for another few years and Honda's official response to our query on this topic was that they can't comment on how much the US introduction will lag other markets, but it will definitely lag them. Our thinking is that model year '09 would be the absolute soonest we might see a Fit here, but more likely it will be 2010 or even 2011.
WOULD SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN FOR GOD SAKE!!!
I am kinda sad that I bought a Fit now b/c the new model will prolly have that 1.8L engine from the base Civic. The xD is going to have the 1.8L with 128hp, so Honda is going to need to keep up with that rating.
When the new one comes out in 3 years, you can trade up for it, because it doesn't seem like we are getting a next gen fit in the US for a while.
Update!
