When I bought my fit in May, the lady I was test driving it with seemed to know all this back then. She told me that they were only having the 07 Honda Fits for sale this year in a 1-1/2 year model production and to start producing the redesigned fit for 08 next year in the US. I didn't believe her then but I did mention what she said in June in a post and its seems like it might be true.

Yeah!!!! hat too

I don't know.........People need to really start enjoy life and the Fits ( I am not refering to you sLiVeRwOrM ) ( general audience comment )

But..... Yeah....That. More than 109hp PLEASE.

As for the 07 fit. I love it and it still the new thing around and still the #1 on the class. So be proud, and beat the hell out of them in every day , and in the track or wherever you like....

i found this pic, says for honda jazz 2008 but looks similar to the description. To me, the back looks very similar to the Scion XA

As for me, I'm always very excited about a new model.
I hope they do put out an all new Fit for 2008!
I hope it is 10 times better looking than the 2007,
and comes with a hybrid that gets 60/65
If i have already bought my 07', i'll just sell it and get the new 08'!
lol, I was just kidding =p

I'm surprised that people are well surprised! Hasn't the assumption all along been that they would build a North American plant to produce a next generation fit that would debut on the 08 model year?

yeah that's what i heard before i even bought mine. In either case i am extremely happy with my Fit. Although it would be somewhat disappointing if the new model had more hp/better mpg/ rear discs/ etc... i am glad i got it. we'll be the only ones with a real JDM model!

There is always going to be something better and newer then what you have. If you have the need now, but the '07, but if you think you can wait, and it is worth your time and money, get the '08.

Personally, if the '08 is THAT much better then the '07 I will just sell the '07 and get an '08! A hybrid would be nice, but the price point has to be right for it to make sense.

That picture is very old; at least 2003.

i just don't want to go thru the trouble of selling and buying a car because the loss will be pretty high considered it's an old model. I'm not gonna complaint if it was a 3 years apart. Because if my car is only 1 year, chances are i won't be able to get lot of aftermarket stuff, and lot of stuff i need will be from dealership $$$. I don't think i can get the $500 deposit back if i change my mind =(

Loss can only be high if Honda drops the MSRP on the 08 model (which will reduce used values). If you trade in a Fit now (or even in January), I suspect you should be able to get a pretty decent amount for it.

The fact is that the 2007 Fit is a great car regardless of what changes in the future. The other fact is that all this talk about the future is internet speculation and is worth about what you paid for it, and probably even less.

A lot of you seriously need to chill out here.

We know this is for real. Now we just need some more details.

Is it similar in looks to the 2008 jazz concept that is floating around above?

Does it have the ugly scion rear end like the picture?

Did they talk about increasing power?

What else!?

Not really, otherwise, how would you explain similar mpg from the civic with a 140 hp inline 4. Fuel efficiency isnt always tied to hp.

More engine displacement with the same engine technology should lead to more hp and less mpg.

The new Civic has the R18 engine, which is a much newer engine architecture compared to the Fit L15 engine. It is a cleaner and more efficient engine. Henceforth, it yields more power and more fuel mpg when compared to Fit even though it has .3L more displacement.

Does a R15 engine exist?
that should be a pretty cool addition to the Fit.
