2008 Fit news?

it doesn't matter to me if a total redesign comes in 08. i love the current fit and wouldn't trade it for anything.
I hope so as I now have a deposit on a red manual sport. That said I am still keeping a close eye out for any info on the 2008 model.

Anyone heard anything at all on the 2008 model - spy photo's, clinics, something?

I've driven by the new facility Honda is building in southern Indiana for the production of the next generation of Fit. it seems to me that at the current pace the exterior might be done by early spring...but i don't see cars coming out of it for another year

A few questions from Norther part of Europe:

How much is changing from the Fit'06 version to the Fit'07 version?

And how diffrent is the Jazz version we have here in Europe from the Fit versions you are getting "over there" ?

I have lurked around to find a suitable stylingkit to my new Honda Jazz that hopefully will arrive in Feb'07. In this search I found some notes about the front bumber being diffrent from a Jazz to a Fit, but not so much that you could not use it visa versa, but you may have to make your own brackets.
Anybody knows?

And there was someone mentioning the Nissan Versa? Is that the same as Nissan Note here in Europe? By the way, a nice looking car, but way too expensive and not at all so practical as the Jazz with its clever back seats. And the '06 Jazz I have tried had a better driving comfort than the Note...

PS! Why can't they make the same name on the cars models all over the world? Well, the answer to Fit not been used in Europe (and Scandinavia in special) is probably obvious, or don't you over in US know the story?

kurtdesch,

Is the new car bigger than old car? (I hope not)

I'm wondering if the new car will be heavier which will affect acceleration,
braking and MPG.

Will the new car get a hybrid powerplant? Any target MPG?

Redesigned rear suspension?

Thats the Fit Daily Active Concept for the Tokyo Auto Salon.

I dont think that has anything to do with the next gen Fit.

It's not really much differemt from the current one. I would expect the basic sheet-metal and shape to be different in a new model.

That's a customized current model Fit, nothing new.

I'm betting that any new model of the North American Fit will include active head restraints.

Civic has Csx, pity the fit doesnt have a luxury edition.
And honda should really bring the Stream over, as it would sell easily

There has got to be some new info on the next gen Fit if its really going to go into production next year (2007). I know Honda is very tight on info, but this is nuts!

It's too close to the scandinavian word for femal genitals

And with the description for the car it makes it perfect; "small outside but big inside"

Because Fit has been sold elsewhere in the world for a few years
already... Honda brought over the Fit at the end of its model cycle.

The Fit was released in NA in April 2006, not late 2006. It was originally introduced in 2001 in Japan, so it is actually quite an old design.

just put everything this way.... we might get the same model or a whole new (remodeling) model FIT... just like the 2002-2005 Honda Civic Si (EP3) USDM... It only lasted for 3 years or so until the new 2006 model SI came out!!

Regardless being the first to own the 2007-2008 USDM FIT is far the best!! Being rarest of all is the best too!! Don't have to worry about seeing everyone with the same car and color.....

a lil off topic here but, wait untill some shop actually starts importing 4WD fits to the United States and start transforming them and drifting in them!!

if the 4WD fit is a good candidate for drifting, then count me in on the double!!

then everyone wants a HONDA FIT!! and you know what they mean by SUPPLY & DEMAND!!
