400k+ '09 Fit "build" thread
Oh, praise the gods!
Amazing. My Fit hit 70k in December when I finally drove up to Vancouver, BC. Haven't been driving much around Vancouver... so, still sub 71k on my 2009 Fit. You have a half million more miles on your fit than mine!!! I am too lazy to dig up my old post asking you to put on 28k more miles to match my fit +500k miles, but you did it!
Looking forward to continued updates for a long time to come!
Cheers.

I posted a thread in the Other Cars section. 141 views, but no responses. Not sure who was looking, though.

A few years ago, I owned a Legacy wagon. I love station wagons, but few that I would actually like. Honda/Acura only had two proper long roof wagons stateside. The rest are European for the most part.
Since the TSX wagon came out, I've wanted one, but of course they were expensive new. They're also not a terribly common sight. Once they hit under $10k I've considered it, but now the good ones under $10k are almost non-existent. Wanted to get one to give it a European flair.
For about two weeks, I've been on an E36 Touring kick and was looking to import one. It would still be under $10k and obscure. I've driven this very one from Rhode Island to Pennsylvania and was hooked on it.

I don't know as I like the idea of my boy hittin' the streets in anything that could be called a "station wagon." I'll have to think about that.
I haven't followed BMW is a long time. Can you work on it like you work on a Honda?

I drove a 318i in 1983. So, I guess that would be a E30. It was a "bottom of the line" kind of car at the time, and I had no interest in it. Then, I drove it. Wow. It was so simple and direct. I wound it out in some canyons here in SoCal. It was so much fun, so alive. It gave the kind of driving experience that is so hard to find now on newer cars.
Damn you, world. Damn, damn, damn.

The Insight is at a friend's house getting detailed, so I tool ol' faithful out for a road trip.
Newark, DE to Milford, CT to work on a friend's car for SEMA, and back to Newark, DE - all within 24 hours. Made it on one tank of gas, too!

What's funny is on Tuesday, I wet-sanded and polished the headlights. Late last night when I was about to head home, I turned the car on to warm it up and turned the lights on. It was foggy late last night and noticed immediately one light was out.

My personal best was around 450 miles, and the gas light turned on shortly before I pulled into a gas station somewhere in SW Virginia. I was on the way to Nashville, if I remember correctly.
Drove it for today's errands, which involved hauling some car parts. Hit 577k today.

New driver's side outer tie rod (OEM) and an alignment were done:

Heard a loud clunk after making a swift left turn, then noticed every left turn was kinda loose:

Took both sides off. Now my sway bar is clunking freely.

It wouldn't be fair to compare yourself to Julian. He is like the Shakespeare, the Picasso, the Mickey Mantle, or the Michael Jordan of FitFreakers. He's in a class by himself. You and I are mere Freakers. Julian is what Rick James would call a Super Freak.

That's why I said mine is a baby
