Love this thread and particularly the pics of your Fit in faraway lands.

It was part of the inspiration for me just getting one of my own: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ml#post1434334

Also, I bought a couple of Volkswagen Fox parts from your friend Jamie back in the day.

Keep the updates, pics and posts coming as the miles pile on.

Thanks and that’s awesome!! I also love the name haha - had a MK3 Jetta TDI before my Fit, too.

I love Foxes. Been trying to hold back on buying a cheap one when they come up for sale. A friend here has a clean one-

That’s a nice looking wagon. I owned both of these at different times. They were good ones I didn’t have to do much to, but my favorites were the $300 beaters that came back to life instead of going to the junk yard.

Decided not to drive like a dick for some odd reason and got good results. 75% is highway, though.

Also replaced the A/C compressor and dehydrator/filter/dryer-drier/whatever you'd like to call it. A buddy of mine was nice enough to drain the system out so I can just do all of this at home without ruining the environment.

While the bumper was off, I decided to upgrade the meep-meep horn for dual Hella trumpet horns from an '03-07 Accord:

Only grief I really had was realizing I got sent an '11-'13 compressor. Note the minor differences in how the lines are bolted down:

Here's to hoping I didn't cause any new leaks, cause I'm not feeling the idea of potentially replacing lines and such. Dropping the Fit off to said buddy this week to run a leak test, vacuum and recharge the system. If all goes well, it'll have A/C for the first time in maybe 4-5 years.

Nice! Did you do the math at fill-up? At my last fill-up, my estimated MPG was 4 above what it actually was. That was also before I filled the tires for the first time since getting the car - they were all 21 PSI under the max PSI...

If you're at a 10-gallon fill-up, that's definitely 40 MPG.

Just took a 300-mile trip myself. Here's hoping my hypermiling paid off!

When I first got the car, I did just to see how accurate the cluster was. Turns out it was indeed four over. There's a bulletin on this (09-086) and I can't remember if my buddy at Honda did the update on it or not since I got the car. I don't really bother with calculations anyway unless my trip meter is showing something unusually low before I fill up.

Today, the Fit has functioning air conditioning for the first time since my ownership and in maybe 4-5 years. Can't thank my friend enough for this!

You'll need the AC heading south. In Alabama the humidity is ridiculous.

Was going to go to Florida, but with the upcoming hurricane, that's not going to happen.

Hey @julianachos - How do you like those window deflectors? Been considering getting them, but they're pretty costly.

Car is looking beautiful as ever!

I’ve had them on majority of my cars. Can’t live without em! Perfect in the rain or if you just want to crack the window on the highway.

If you do get them on your Fit, don’t leave the rear window cracked in the rain when parked.

And thanks!

Another trip down. Went to Toronto for a few days and even changed my oil there. Funny thing is last time I went, I did an oil change then too. It's gone from Toronto to Atlanta and whatever in between and back to Toronto.

I've had this thing for a few months - a Form Fit hood deflector. From my understanding, these were a Honda Canada OEM accessory. Feels like an OEM piece. Didn't want to install it until I got a new hood, which I've acquired a week before my trip.

I think the odometer is currently reading 521k miles. Can't remember.

Clutch #5 took a dump on me Friday night. I was able to limp it 25 miles (just staying in 5th gear) to the nearest rest stop for easy towing. I was about 20 miles from home at this point.

Ordered a clutch while waiting for the tow truck and should be in my hands tomorrow when I pull the trans out. Gotta get this thing ready before I leave next Tuesday to go to TX.

RockAuto.

Pull wheels and axles out, remove battery, starter, and shift linkages, and pull trans out. At least that's how I remembered doing it last time.

Anything the clutch kit comes with along with MTF.

To what do you attribute the clutch failure?

Happens every time. Going a different route for clutch #7. Really didn't think this one would only last me 60k miles but here we are.

@julianachos: Who made the clutch replacement kit? It's not OEM, is it?
