The bottom of the Curt receiver is just over 8". Also just looked at the owners manual and Honda does not recommend towing with the fit, says voids all warranties. Plus the Fit only has a load carrying capacity of about 850lbs...not much, put in 4 adults that weight 200lbs each and you are at near capacity already.
