Torque Converter Flush on brand new fit?
Congrats on the Fit EX purchase.
This thread got me (re) thinking - I did see more lightly used Fits at Boston metro dealers than new Fits. Many were 2017s and 18s with very low miles from 3-8K. I wonder why that was but the price they were asking was almost as much as my 2019 LX CVT with no other options. I wonder if those cars had issues and the owners traded it in to buy a different car. I never saw many 17s and 18s deals - the new 19 model just made sense.

Thanks 2rismo. I'm actually going to look at another '19 fit EX right now, but they are selling it used and not certified pre-owned. The reason why they won't sell it certified is because it has aftermarket heated seats installed. Has anyone heard of a manufacturer not certifying a car because of this? it's my understanding that the certified warranty is only an extension of the powertrain limited warranty. How would a heated seat affect the cars powertrain?
Thanks Runchman, I'm actually going to pick up some Factory Honda mats and cargo liner for $100 off of FB Marketplace (just because of the price, can't beat it). I just hope they fit my '19 becuase it looks like they changed the part number in '17 or '18 and the ones I'm picking up were in a '15 or '16. (I think they changed the last 3 numbers of part from 110 to 111).
And thanks Jazu. When I was still considering the used fit they put the car on a lift and had their "master tehnichian" take a look at the rear end (after I pointed out the bumber being removed and interior taken apart). I got to ask him about the GK Fit reliability and he claimed not to know anything about the fuel injector, starter or valve issues. I couldn't tell if he was sincere or not, but if there are any TSBs out for the problems then I'd have to guess he wasn't being truthful and was trying to help the salesperson out.
Thank for the help everyone. I've only driven the new car about 100 miles, but I am very impressed so far. Overall, it's much quieter than I remember in the three test drives I had taken and it seems quieter than my '05 CR-V SE I just traded in for it. I've also been impressed by the seat comfort so far. I can see how it would be uncomfortable for some, but it fits me well and I feel like there's even adequate lumbar support (which is usually my biggest complaint among car seats). I really look forward to breaking it in and getting more acquainted with the car. There are only 2 things I've noticed which I didn't experience on the test drives (probably because of the babling salesperson):
1. With the windows up and driving from a dead stop the engine noise has an odd "tinny" resonance to it. Maybe it'll go away after breaking in, or it's just the nature of such a tiny engine? It's kind of unique, and likely something I'll just have to get used to.
2. Even though it's is wicked cold outside I opened the sunroof for the hell of it and there's a god awful whistling sound. I'm going to need to find the source of it and remedy it come spring, because I can't live without it. It's only a factor above 40-45mph.
I haven't searched on here for those two things, but I'll get to it. I have many questions for the rest of you but I'll try to ensure threads on the topics don't already exist, and if they don't I'll try to post them to the right spots. Thanks again everyone, I appreciate the advice.
