ThAT is pretty respectable mpg. Specially for a brand new un-broken in vehicle. Certainly better than what the naysayers have been expecting. Go baby go!!!!!

In shorts. 90ish degrees and sunny out. Car took several minutes to cool down (AC on, windows partly down) and my legs got fairly sweaty on the leather seats. It helped a little bit to have the AC blowing hi/lo, but I did want to device some sort of cover for the sweat--maybe just on the seat bottom, but not on the back. (or maybe I'll just keep a towel in the car to sit on for some trips.) But the seats themselves did not feel too hot to sit on when we got in the car.

Parked under a shade tree (windows cracked open) at our destination for not quite two hours, and when we got back in the car, it didn't feel hot at all, and I wasn't sweaty on the return trip.

Averaged about 37 mpg per the car computer today.

Also...started a different thread today about how the bikes fit. Roomy!
You are my hero.
Thanks for taking the time and thanks posting. You may have just pushed me over the edge to the EX-L.

It's a good chunk of money, but if I keep this car anywhere near as long as I've kept most then I'll have it for at least 10 years... probably makes it worthwhile to go ahead and get the leather.

We both obviously know how Texas weather is.
You were going to get sweaty whether that was cloth or leather interior.
There is no escape.

I got the leather and just purchased a Black bath towel, folded it over and tucked it into the seat. Mainly to save dirtying the leather from my work clothes.

You're quite welcome. Thought I would try to answer your question and get a family visit done all at the same time!

I tend to drive my cars for many years, too, and instead of having stained and worn cloth down the line (I am active, and there will be sweat, even in the winters)...the leather will hold up better. Had the same plan as tmfit about a black towel for this little gem.

and hey...it hasn't gotten to 100 degrees yet! And we're through a good chunk of June!

Out of curiosity sake, my car just came off of cars.com site. Bought on june 12th so it took 5 days for them to remove it but that is probably just the speed of the dealer.

Also - do you mind sharing what you paid in total?
I was quoted $22,170.15 out the door for the EX-L.

Better than what I was offered here in MD...Dealer was trying to do $23,175 for a EX model!!

I finally decided on the EX-L and just pulled the trigger on it about 2 minutes ago.
Figure if I keep it as long as I plan to, the durability of the leather seats will be worth it, and the difference in cost will be long forgotten.

Waiting to hear word on an estimated ETA.
Should be going to the dealership later today to leave a deposit.

A sincere thanks to everyone here who helped my decision making process.... from the end of last year when I was debating getting a 2013 Sport, up to today.
Not sure what I would have done without the input and insights from this forum.

Ha.
Blue.

We'll see how long it takes to arrive.
I'm just hoping they don't come back and tell me sometime in August.

It's a nice blue. I would have taken one of those, but am really liking the steel grey. Hope it comes sooner rather than later.

If you ever change your mind we could swap.
Steel grey was my second choice... debated it for quite a while.

Thats great to hear Austin! I got the Steel gray and love it. The Blue is really nice but the wife wasn't so much a fan as she was the Gray.

My EX-L was $22,406 with taxes and fees and no down payment. Without those fees I paid MSRP of $20,590. If your dealer is jacking up the MSRP I would find another dealer, this wont be the only time he screws you.

Not sure if this is of interest or helpful to anyone - but I was told by my dealership today that they have no Blue EX-L's coming in right now.
When I followed up with him his best guess was that I was probably looking at July or August.

(which of course makes me think it could be August or September)

Apparently I can't even put down a deposit until they have a specific vehicle allocated. Not sure if that's just how they do things, or if that's industry wide policy.

Here is the relevant part of his email:

"We do not have a blue EXL showing in our allocation as yet. I have two Silver, one grey, one red, and one white one incoming. I cannot take a deposit on the car until it has been allocated (trading for cars is impossible currently as so many are sold before they hit the ground).

I will watch the allocation chart daily, as soon as a Blue EXL appears I will let you know and then you can place a deposit and it will be yours. "

So after much debate and fretting over decisions.... looks like I'm back to waiting for a while.

Arrival Begins

The closest dealer to me told me he has a blue due in on his latest allocation. So I think that means in the coming weeks.
