2015 Dealer Price...and What You Paid
15 EX 6MT Alabaster Silver, stock, no dealer installed options
Asking Price was sticker: 18,380
Sale Price: 18,000
Trade: 11 Jetta Sportwagen 2.5 SE, received 5% over KBB trade in
I am satisfied with the deal, the VW had developed some issues I didn't want to deal with (transmission and electrical).

You don't tell us what the options are for the $565, so I can't comment on if they are overpriced. The cost of the options is an area I would attack when trying to get a better price. $160 for splash guards PLUS install cost? $245 for the cargo cover? Lots of profit built into those. Obviously I could have retired by now if I had gone into plastic molding as my career choice.
Ultimately I have stopped stressing about if I get the best possible deal. I negotiate until I am getting the car I want for a price am comfortable paying. Research before hand is the key to my strategy. Knowing more about the car than the salesman, what I can afford to borrow and what the difference between my trade in and the new car needs to be to achieve my goal are the things I am always armed with when car shopping.
Your Base, not sure which trim level you are looking at, plus destination is $18,390, $10 higher than sticker on a stock EX 6MT here in New York. Fit's are popular in my area and it was hard for me to get them to take anything off the sticker price. Have you tried using True Car to compare against?

Options are window tint already installed (333)
Cargo tray 114
Wheel lock 56
Bumper decal 62
Yes True Car offers 18179 with no options
My plan was to get them to throw in a couple of extra options to meet halfway on the window tint since it wasn't an option I requested.

All of those are useful options IMO. The tint price looks high but the others look below MSRP. So it looks to me like a bit better pricing that what I expect to see out of a dealer. Up here you wouldn't be able to go too much lower unless you were getting killed on your trade. Average price paid in Dallas is 18,180 for a stock EX 6MT according to TrueCar.

I'm not doing a trade in. Beyond splitting the window tint, I really don't see much room to haggle.
A word of advice, not sure how much you know about tint install. Take a hard look at the install (i.e., excess bubbles, evenness of cut at the top of glass as it bevels, torn weatherstrips, unimpeded movement of glass up and down, etc).
If all is good and it is the vehicle you want, don't play with it too long. Get 'er done, or just wait fot a '16 "J" VIN.
New user here. Great to see this resource.
In Maine, I just paid $17,915 for an EX MT and had them throw in the all-weather floor mats, cargo tray, and mud guards.
Seemed fair to me (before doc fees, registration, taxes, etc.)

2016 LX CVT
$16,800 and got all the all weather mats, cargo matt and nets and mud guards (and the BS paint protection package)
Another dealer offered me 2015 EX MT for $17,000. Only thing I wanted from EX upgrade was the camera view when turn signal came on. I really just wanted the Auto. Been driving stick for so long, I want the easy life!

Thoughts in Retrospect
Just in case it helps someone considering buying;
I should have gotten an LX with fog lights rather than an EX (6 speed manual for me).
The Fogs are the only feature that I think is worth it in retrospect.
The Screen is garbage ha, the moonroof and push start/keyless entry aren't needed at all and I actually HATE the push start for the fact that I can turn the key back to ACC when I want to, etc.
Oh, I'll just go through the features one by one. ha
-Moon roof - luxury but not needed or missed without.
-16" Alloys - I upgrade all wheels anyway.
-Lane Watch - don't really use it or the backup camera ever. Convenient once in a while for sure. Not needed.
-7" Display Screen - let's be real. The only thing that sucks on these cars is the touch screen and no knobs.
-Text Function - I Never use it. Ever.
-Push Button Start - more automation means less control. I hate having to cycle the car off and back on to turn to ACC and I can't kill the engine when coasting. Really regret this one. A lot.
-Smart Entry - Convenient, wouldn't be missed without it. Also a bad thing in any scenario with bad folks. Again, more automation means less control.
-FOG LIGHTS - practically a necessity where I'm from. Would buy these or aftermarket as an option on the LX for sure.
-Honda Link - Who cares? Don't use it.
These are just my personal thoughts and experiences with my EX and I wanted to share for those weighing pros and cons and deciding to buy. Of course others personal opinions and experiences will vary.

You can "kill" the engine while coasting by pressing and holding the Start/Stop button for a few seconds. Make sure it's in neutral though.

I will say in my choice to go LX, that the 15 inch rims they come with are completely hideous. Every time I look at them a piece of me dies. In the process of finding replacements. Looking for 16's.

I agree with all your points. I didn't see the need for any of the EX upgrades. I didn't get this car for luxury, got it cause its cheap and gets good gas mileage and will run for 200k miles with oil changes.

Agreed with both of you.. I can't believe the car would have cost much more to build with some 15" Alloys. Hopefully around Xmas i'll be buying some aftermarket wheels.
I already posted details earlier on what I paid for my 2015 FIT EX-L with Navigation: Sticker, 21,750 Paid 19,990. (Plus all the CA taxes and fees).
But since people use this section when they are shopping, before the 2016 FITS come out this fall, I wanted to give a quick opinion on model levels since I know some people will give up some options to save a few dollars.
If your budget will not allow you to get above the LX level--that is great--I drove a 2009 Base FIT for 70K miles until my new 2015 in March of 2015. I loved it!
But, if you are heading into the EX level, I want to encourage you to not try to save $1000 by giving up the HD/Satellite Radio/Leather Seats/Navigation/Sunroof. Contrary to some professional and laymen reviews I have read all over the internet--the entertainment electronics on this car are phenomenal and first class and intuitive once you use them a bit. Until you have Satellite radio in your car you will not know what you are missing. I come home and sit in my car for a hour sometimes in the driveway just listening to all the great stations. It's an incredible service. The system is easy to use after some trial and error and it comes with a large Honda entertainment manual I refer to from time to time. And there are steering wheel controls. My Android phone syncs well with the bluetooth and if you have I-phone--even more features. Google maps on your phone are not a replacement for the excellent big screen pin point up-datable maps on the Honda. The Leather seat are very supportive and comfortable. People in my car that have Lexus and Mercedes ask, why does my car not have this stuff including the Honda patented side camera that lets you also see drivers in back of you while you move forward.
Just an FYI: Satellite radio is free for your 1st 3 months, then Sirius/XM will offer Honda owners a deal to keep it another 6 months for $25.00 they did for me. That is a good trial period--you will want to keep it--it's like cable TV in the car with CNN and FOX news and MSNBC, tons of special concerts, etc--listen anywhere in the USA.
Honda is giving you a lot for a little--take advantage of it!
If you tried to get all this on a CRV it would sticker at $37,000!

2015 Fit Silver EX 6MT - 19859 OTD (includes delivery, taxes, fees, dealer installed options).
Used Edmunds price match for negotiation baseline. Since they had a bunch of manuals left on the lot, I got them to take off ~$500 off of the Edmunds quote. Dealer installed options were tinting, wheel locks, invisible door/handle guards (got reamed on these haha).
Ooh also, got in on PenFed's 1.29% 4year APR loan deal (or .99% 3year) they were running for Labor day. Honda was only offering 2.9% for the Fit.

"What you paid" would really add some serious sparkle by including new car pix in each new owner's chosen setting.
