Also, This might be a stupid question, but when should I expect a new model to be release? Is there talk of a 2016, or will they skip at least a year again?

alabaster silver lx mt stock
sticker 15525 plus 790 destination = 16315
negotiated down to 16150
total 17400 otd including all taxes, tags and fees...
no financing...

Not nearly as good a deal as others have posted, but I bought mine back in July (Vin# high 6000) and Fits seemed in shorter supply then, so not much room for negotiation. It was also exactly the car/color/trim I wanted, no other area dealers had one like it, and I needed to replace my previous car asap which was totaled when a tree limb fell on it.

I know the feeling; bought mine in July '14 (delivered in August) after my 2008 Fit Sport was totaled in an accident. The only advantage was the 60% "discount" on my new Fit via the at-fault driver's insurance payout. Negotiation with State Farm produced an additional $1300 which I suppose 'fits' logically itself into this thread.

When I get back to the US and need a car I will be able to afford to buy the Fit I want outright, but if I can get financing at a lower APR than the money is currently making me in interest I would want to do that.

Is there a time or trick I can use to get these better financing deals?
I wanted to get the college grad $500 rebate, but apparently Honda only does 4.99 APR right now for the college grad program. I was only able to get 3.99 APR through the regular Honda financing despite having an excellent credit rating and large down payment. It could just be the market is not great right now for interest rates? About a year ago my gf got a new 2013 Civic with college grad rebate and 1.9% APR financing . The dealership suggested I try to refinance the car through my bank or credit union to get a better APR in 6mo - year.

Yikes, that's pretty high for excellent credit... It's normally a good idea to have preapproved outside financing before you go to the dealership, DCU for instance offers as low as 1.49% for scores of 675+, and a lot of other credit unions will offer under 2% with excellent credit. I'd also recommend refinancing much sooner - on an auto loan you pay more of the interest off first, so in 6-12 months you will have paid the bank a huge chunk of their interest and yet will have a lot of principal left to pay. Refinancing at that point will just mean paying extra interest to a second bank.

Just put together a sample amortization schedule for a $10K 36 month loan at 3.99%, and in the first 12 months you will have paid over 50% of the total interest owed - $363 out of $627.

MyFico forums are a great resource!

Yeah, the reason why I wanted to go with the Honda financing is that it's a requirement to qualify for the college grad rebate. I finalized basically everything via email with the dealership beforehand and they quoted me 3.99 without mentioning that was the not college grad program APR (I didn't realize there would be separate rates). I took the 3.99 APR @ 60 months ($10.5k loan) since they said it would cost the same as going with 4.99 + rebate for the 60mo term. Luckily the couple percentage points I probably missed out on aren't too significant due to my large down payment. Regardless, I will look into refinancing sooner. Thanks for the advice!

I think I found a worthy replacement. I got my 09 fit totaled a month ago (rear-ended and pushed into another car). Here is the deal I got in Dallas. EX-L Modern Steel. The cars on the lot were full of dealer installed goodies.
Originally quoted out the door $24,104 this included locks, splash guard, door guard, cargo tray and tint, all weather mats, bumper guard, and moonroof visor.

They had one coming in that had nothing added which is the one I chose.
$21.892 out the door.

Looking forward to a little more creature comforts.

Sounds great! Watch Fitfreak posts for any 'ups', and post some pix.

I'd like to get that $500 too as my daughters are graduating, but the requirement that you finance through Honda pretty much means that, with brand new jobs, they qualify only for high interest rates, if at all. The high rates aren't much concern if I pay it off right away, but the fine print may require the loan be active for a set period. By adding 5% to the interest rate Honda makes that $500 back in interest in the first six months.

I paied $18,900 OTD (which is quite low) for an EX CVT on 12/30/2014.

Today I asked the same dealer what their best OTD would be for a LX 6MT (another family member needs a car soon). They quoted me $19,100.

The "discount" from the insurance in my case only amounted to about 20% of the fit price since my previous car was a 2000 focus. That was still more than enough to coax me into treating myself to the luxury of my first new car. Other factors were the relative high cost for used cars since the recession, the numbers of hurricane sandy damaged cars I suspected I was encountering, and my mostly, my attraction for the design of this somewhat strange little Honda car I'd been admiring for years.

Their "best" price remains undetermined until someone actually makes the deal and receives a car. What they quoted you was a talking number.

Six days ago, I paid $16016 before tax and license for an LX in San Diego. The dealer was asking $17240.

[edit: OTD was $17745]

On February 3rd, in Delray Beach, Florida, for a 2015 Fit LX CVT in Aegean Blue I paid $17,169 (before additions of $1093 for Florida tax/tag/title and $300 subtraction for trade-in of my 20 year old minivan).

MSRP was 16,450 plus destination/handling of 820, so the total Monroney sticker price was $17,220, and then they had added a pack (of worthless crap) bringing the "Total Price" to $19,563. Hopefully, no sucker has ever actually been willing to pay that total price.

There were only three Fit LXs of this color in south Florida, and color was an issue for me. I understand why many Floridians want white cars to reflect the heat. I don't understand why so many Floridians want black cars.....to make them feel important or mysterious? Or because they enjoy frying eggs on their hood? And silver is a popular color, enabling you to blend into the pavement, so that other drivers won't see you! I didn't want red, since I had just had a red van recently. And I wanted to be able to FIND my car easily in a parking lot. So the blue was perfect.

I agree with you about the visibility, which is one reason I bought white. Yellow and red bleach quickly in the sun. Blue is pretty resistant to sun and looks nice.

Just for fun: Yes, but modern metallic steel is distinguished looking (wherever) that makes me (recently retired) feel like I engender/engendered a significant rate of income (although I never have) that I have not chosen to expend the emotional energy to care about. To clarify, I am enjoying one of my famous martinis, and am grooving on 'Big Bang Theory', by which I, (interestingly unlike my former, valued academic colleagues) am experiencing genuine, genetically-induced mirth.

That may be true for others but not in the case of my EX CVT purchase last year. They quoted me 18,900 and I paid that exact amount. Well, I guess not any more.

I think you early adopters didn't have that much room to maneuver so you were sort of at their mercy. I have to tip my hat to you guys for blazing the trail. Thank you.

That's pretty interesting... I bought my Fit 2 days ago got the college grad deal and 2.99% APR. Maybe it's a regional thing?
