How are people getting such low quotes/deals on the Fit? I'm looking for a EX CVT in the New York - Connecticut area and the lowest I've gotten so far is:

Closer dealership:
$18,925 + Doc Fee: $75 + DMV Fee: $195 + Sales Tax: $1,201.74 = $20,401.74 (Emailed them on my own)

Farther dealership:
$18,223 + Tax = $19,575.16 (via Edmunds Price Promise)

But I'm seeing EX CVTs on this thread with OTDs as low as $18,650. I'm perplexed.

Okay, so after TWO MONTHS of waiting for my Silver LX CVT to get to the dealership, it's finally here! I wanted a certain VIN range (50K+), so between the price offered and the VIN#59491 I figured it would be worth the wait, and I'm super happy with that decision. Made a long list of things to go over based on the "Quality issues" thread, and knock on wood nothing bad found!

Here's our breakdown:

Vehicle price: $15907 (no other dealer would go under $16K, so it was definitely the lowest quote around)
MA Sales Tax: $1017.25
Doc prep: $364
License & Title: $162.50
Title prep: $5

Total OTD: $17455.75

We used the USAA car buying service (basically TrueCar) and bought at Atamian Honda in Tewksbury.
The sales guy we bought from (Dan Traficante) was actually really nice - no pressure, no cheesy tricks, just an overall nice and very patient person to work with, and I would highly recommend asking for him if you are there. This was a very welcome change from Boch where the sales guy acted like he couldn't care less about us and our purchase (not to mention the whole "your VIN range request is stupid" part of it), and the manager George was every single terrible car salesman stereotype rolled into one!
On the other hand the finance guy, Johnny, made some "mistakes" that were a little shady, so we chose to go with our own USAA financing to be on the safe side, even though he was offering 1.99% and our USAA approval was for 2.24%.

I worked it based on edmunds price promise as well. One dealer gave my very low price then they refused to honor based on extra addons. Most of the other quotes received, are similar to your offers. They made a mistake by sending lower quote.
I complained to edmunds and Generate manager. GM followed up with me and took a $500 deposit to get other car without addon's. I just bargained for addon's got the car. Another thing is, this specific dealer has lot of FIT's (specifically EX CVT) on the lot. Not sure how he accumulated this many Fits on the lot. I guess, they tried to move out few quickly. One thing I noticed is, not many dealers approached me over phone ever after submitting information through their website/edmunds. Only two dealers showed interest.

Bought a blue LX CVT 2015 fit in Boston today for:

Vehicle price: $15,785
MA Sales Tax: $1,005.50
Doc prep: $298
License & Title: $130
State inspection: 35
Title prep: $5

Total OTD: $17,263.50

Was told that the recent blizzards have made it hard to move fits. Dealerships haven't gotten as many customers in recent weeks, and those who come in are buying SUVs. So maybe they're more willing to move fits at a lower price?

Started looking for a fit about a week ago. I got mediocre APR quotes from USAA and bad true car price quotes, so I contacted Boston-area dealerships on my own. Atamian offered 15,785 right off the bat, which was around $100 less than Boch offered. Most local dealerships offered to match (some said that's a great price, don't know how they're offering that, buy from them), and Commonwealth Honda in Lawrence offered to beat it. Didn't want to drive all the way up there so I went to Herb Chambers (after a horrible experience at Honda Village in Newton). Local credit union offered me 1.99% apr and Herb Chambers beat it to give me 1.89%. Boch had offered $15,100 for the LX manual, but my wife insisted we get CVT. Wanted the nicer rims, but didn't really want any of the other upgrades that come with the EX. Every dealership included delivery fee in the price but insisted you must pay doc fee, which varied $250-400.

I guess I was just tired and wanted to go home that day.

I left a negative review for the dealership. I am not fignting it. I think I will prepay a lot of the principal in the next few months and reduce my interest payable.

I hope I got a decent deal on the price though.
$19,261.00
$ 790.00 Destination
$20,051.00 Sub-Total (MSRP 20,600 EXL w/o nav)

7% NJ Sales Tax
$ 249.00 Doc. Fee
$ 7.50 Tire Tax
$ 296.00 Reg/Title
Can you tell me where in NJ? Im looking for the same car. Thanks

Price paid

I paid sticker for an LX manual. No dealer options on it. It was the first one they had off the truck. Other dealers wanted way over sticker, so I was happy with the price.

Looks like I got lucky with mine.
2015 Fit LX 6MT

-$16,300 MSRP (no options)
-$300 "dealer installed" window tint
-Milano Red!
-Price Paid OTD - $16,000 flat

I said I'd pay $17,500 OTD, the deal got accepted. I had cold feet and decided to sleep on it, and they started dropping the price. Asked what number would work for me.

I lowballed them at $16,000 including TT&L and... got my car for that price exactly. Interest rate was higher than I had hoped at 4.7% for 48 months, but I'm refinancing it through a credit union at 1.99%. By the way, I highly recommend getting hooked up with a credit union. If you have a decent credit score (i.e. over 700), they'll give you an incredible interest rate.

You didn't have to pay any tax? That's amazing.

Best price I could find

Finally got my Fit EX automatic this weekend! We went in with some very detailed research and some other offers. I think we got a pretty sweet deal.

2015 Fit EX Automatic Blue - $17,800 out the door.

The price on the window a couple of weeks ago was $20,200 but they added a couple of features (tint, pin stripes, floor mats, The Protector) which brought the price on the window to $24,000.

I argued that I wanted the same price as the other week (saying other dealers had better offers) so they decided to drop it back down to what it was. They gave me $5,000 for my trade-in (2005 Scion XA) And I put down $5,000. Doesn't get much better than an awesome brand new car for under $230/month!

It can be done, it just takes some aggressive discussions.

Even though the person who shows their hand first usually gets the worst deal, if you are intending on buying a car that day like I was, I simply emailed everyone and asked "Do you want to sell a FIT SPORT today?" And, in the email, I wrote how much I wished to pay. I did this after my 07 was totaled in 09 (not in a collision though so no worries but long story) and I had x amount of dollars to spend. I gave them my OTD price which was low.vIn the end, I got the 09 FIT SPORT For 17,001 OTD price---But the catch was that I had to take that particular car, it was black...they had paperwork on how when it came off the trailer, the underside got scratched...I could not see what they were saying..Further they had some paperwork showing paint repair work in the amount of around 2500.00?? The funny thing is, as cheap as this was, I probably paid "too much" or he would not have sold it to me IMHO-- if you know what I mean--like maybe the manager would have had to something else with this scratch and dent product? Honestly, it was a lot to interpret--I did not completely understand what was happening but was thrilled that I was getting a brand new Sport which ran perfectly but two weeks ago, it was in a little accident recently at 90,000 miles...so I am sad b/c I think 09 was a great model year!! If it is not repaired, it may be hard for me to find another 09! And, I may end up with my all weather mats and cargo tray to sell LOL.

$17800 OTD for EX CVT Blue is a killer price. I doubt any one can get this deal unless Honda gives incentives to dealers.

True- but you have to take in consideration- Yes- OTD was $17,800.00 but he didn't get the car for that price in the initial paperwork- there was the $5,000.00 trade involved. It would be nice to see what the paperwork showed before they deducted the trade-in (even if they gave a higher value trade in- it's still a minus- no matter what they charged for the accessories or didn't charge for them)- so that would show the beginnings of true value of a deal- so that other's can see what the dealer actually charged him for the car- since we all have different fees, etc. in states we reside- but original numbers- are beneficial to us all.

I am assuming the Protector he was speaking about was one of the various Protection Packages that are available. And the more freebies
you can get the- merrier!

Congrats on your new purchase!

Appears to be a "very aggressive" deal for sure- especially if it was a CLEAN deal- as far as no TRADE IN involved.

Do you mind sharing what the cost was before Tax and License and whatever additional fees you were charged?

Sorry to hear that your previous car was totaled- hopefully anyone in the car was SAFE and the only loss- was the car.

Did you have any manufacture rebates and/or incentives in the deal- like Military, College Graduate, etc.?

Thanks.
