They do not know if you are part of the bumper recall yet. I would check again in September/October.
I know my car will be part of that recall, and it doesn't show up in their system while my car is being... fixed.

Years ago there was a recall on Ford pickups because they tried to save money on paint, and it eventually flaked off. Since it wasn't a safety recall, so they didn't notify owners. It was up to the owners to call Ford, something I didn't do.

a buddy of mine had all sorts of paint issues with his 2011 mustang.

as for the fit, this doesn't seem like too big a deal but at least they discovered the issue early enough. i've only seen a handful of new fits on the road.

a bigger issue is orange is not available as a factory color...

I haven't seen even one new Fit on the road, except for when I pass my son. I used to have a Nissan Cube, and they are still very rare.

I have a low number, 7,000 something, so I assumed it would be on the bumper recall. I will check next month. GM is miserable about theirs. All solstices were recalled, and I got mine done by going to the dealer. It sat there for 6 weeks waiting for parts. I got a nice free loaner in the meantime. I never did receive a recall notice from GM, though. Now, ALL new Camaro's have been recalled for the ignition switch. But you call GM, and the answer is "no recall", even though GM announced it to the world 2 months ago. got rid of the Solstice, and the Camaro will be my last GM product.

+1 on this! The mystic yellow pearl should have been Revolution Orange!! Great color on a Fit.

Orange would be kind of ripping off the Fahrenheit editions of the GTI though...
Does Honda even have an orange? I can't remember seeing an orange Honda except in maybe Fast and Furious...

I do think a more vivid yellow would have been sweet though.

UPDATE: dealer checked the airbag situation through an inspection and determined the entire headliner needed to be replaced. I was not even aware that that was part of the recall, but they replaced it! They said it could interfere with the A-pillar airbag deployment.

I think they call that color "Orange Fire Pearl". I had seen it on the showroom where we purchased our Fit. The car itself was the Civic Si. I liked the car, but I would hate to see what it would cost to insure, with three young drivers in our family.

I wonder what would happen if the airbag deployed with the wrong plastic? I bet it would still bust through the plastic, you just might get some shrapnel from it

The GE or GD came in a sort of burnt orange. There is one in my neighborhood.

I remember that orange color, in fact I think it was on the cover of the 2008 Honda Fit brochure. I'm not sure if you could get it on the Base, but I am sure it came on the Sport version.

UPDATE: after I got the car back after 2 weeks, the body shop had fixed the scratched paint and the dealer replaced the headliner under recall. Problem is, they scratched the leather on the top of my wheel 1 week later and I am waiting to hear back on what they want to do, but I will not accept the damage.

That's why I don't like anyone working on my cars. When I had a Cube, there was a recall. I saw later that they weren't very careful about placing the jack pads under the car. They bent the sheet metal, which later rusted.
