@yellowmno

Could you provide the link for the Lowe's DIY antenna cap.

Thanks.

There's another thread with much detail and diagrams, but basically there are non-galvanized plates inside the doors that anchor the door handles. They are rusting, so they will be replaced with rust resistant plates. Some folks have complained about the careless use of metal vs. plastic tools to remove and reinstall the door panels, resulting in scratches on the door around the reinstalled panels. I have shopped around for a relatively respected dealership service shop since comments for our shop were expunged on Angie's list for being faked from a common oip address. Comments about them on other pages are pretty toxic. My 2015 EX was delivered in first class condition, and I sure don't want to experience a physical condition downgrade with this recall.

Same here. Got it a few months ago and haven't got it done. Don't plan to.

Have you guys taken a peek down the rear windows? You may change your mind. Less than a year of ownership and they were covered in rust on mine. Since they are bolted on the inside of the door panel, I wouldn't want that rust to spread and rust from the inside out.

I had the front bumper recall done at a local dealer, and I found out months later that they broke a mounting point for the front bumper. I consider it bad design by Honda because I broke the mounting on the other side when removing the bumper to install louder horns. There's a tiny plastic tab that accepts a screw to attach the top of the bumper to the car over the wheel well. When I removed the right ride, I saw the broken piece. When I reassembled the left side, it was so difficult to get it back into place, that I broke off that tiny tab. I plan to inject some kind of adhesive into the gap to secure both side in place.

When my son had the recall done, he went to a different dealer, with no problems. Probably more luck than anything else.

Thanks for the reminder 2Rismo2. I included some down-angled pix of the window/weather stripping areas of each door, having also seen the gaps resulting from some other folks' repair jobs. On inspection, everything seems extremely tight, and I am unable to see inside of the door, but have the image docs if damage is encountered there. Like you, I just don't like the idea of potentially leaving a long-term problem unattended, even in the south. Thus tomorrow's appointment, and it's off to see the wizard(s)(?). I will mention my concerns up front and keep my fingers crossed.

What did I do to it today?

I washed it and vacuumed it. It is so beautiful, this 2009 Sport of mine.

I have been at the Dealers 2 of the last 3 days looking at a 2016EX just because of that recall! It makes me not want to drive my beauty - and it WOULD be nice to have a backup cam and a moon roof, huh?

But boy this 2009 has been so great I wish my dealer had air bag parts! Are you all in this forum too car-smart to worry about a recalled air bag?

So the BIG thing that I did today was I traded it in! And I got a 2016 EX white.
I got half off on parts and labor for three add ons: blue foot lights, a cargo cover, and door guards.
I spoke on Blue Tooth all the way home.
Waiting for a friend to come over to open the champagne.

Congrats Neros, and enjoy the new ride/toys! Hope you post some pix so we can have a look.

I drove it home and didn't get back in and even drive around the block. It's just sitting there waiting for me to love it as much as I loved my 2009. I liked the BLACK on the back of the 2009 and not sure yet about this CHROME on the front and back of the 2016. But for sure the RIDE is better, the key, the bluetooth, the cams, the moon roof, the suspension, and the blue toe lights will be nice. Funny. Sometimes we just ... do things that do not necessarily make sense. The Japanese have a word for the spirit that gets in to things. I think the word is "WabiSabi" or something like that. My 2009 had a lot of WabiSabi and I can't expect this 2016EX to have any yet. I'll bet it will have some in a week or so.

Doors Fixed

Went to see the wizard(s): hand-selected dealership (until today, not my own) based on best recommendations posted in social media.

I was met, greeted, and placed on-line a half hour early for my 10:00 a.m. appointment. The door handle recall repair was promised in 4 hours. That, my oil & filter change, tire rotation and tire pressure light fix, and a complimentary car wash were finished in 3.5 hours. Everything looks great, with a small dab of grease at the base of each door margin just to let me know they were there. This Happy Camper bought the hat (with a nice discount), and gladly recommends this shop as Fit-Friendly turf.

Going on 2 years old, Loki-chan was fortunately old enough to find out where new Fits come from. They not only had the biggest selection I have seen (one of two rows imaged), but they had them proudly arrayed right out front, closest to the road.

This is also the dealership that produced a very cool YouTube 2015 Fit test drive video when I was sopping up all possible knowledge following my purchase in August 2014.

Are you a Mushi-shi fan (on Netflix)? I cannot imagine your not enjoying it if your Japanese spirit tradition has emerged from an entirely different source, and you have not seen the series. I think the Fit experience is a very compatible vibe for those who are open to spirit manifestations.

Looking sharp 2Rismo2; you'll get the nods in any parking lot. Hey, do you pull out your jack to get those wheel covers aligned??

Fitster: thx for the Mushi-shi tip. I will check it out. I am slowly getting some Wabi-Sabi into the new little one. Yesterday I ordered a black pillow bolster for the arm rest and two shiny chrome license holders for when the plates come. It's raining in SoCA (unheard of!), so not a lot of driving has taken place. I might go out tonight in the rain and play with radio and basic commands.
