Cool, looks like it performed well (and from your mod thread) I tend to agree that the CVT may actually be quicker around the track than a manual. I do wish sometimes I had the manual... mainly when I want to pass someone very quickly on the freeway, but overall I'm quite happy with the CVT performance.

 

Lol we dont have enough power in the fit to pass anyone quickly on the freeway.

 

Haha, maybe that should be "passing eventually"... I don't drive it enough to get in to a day to day routine with the CVT, but perhaps a flick of the downshift paddle and a push of the accelerator is what I need to do to get some passing power. I usually have the wife with me when I drive this car, so I have less options to 'experiment'.

 

If any of you have not already done so. REPLACE TRANSMISSION FLUID WELL BEFORE MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATION. I replaced mine at 4200 miles on a 2016 Fit EX w/ CVT. and the Factory fluid coming out was brown with metal debris floating in them, and the transmission magnet was coated in some black metallic stuff. I flushed it with OEM HCF2. Ran me 108 dollars and about 3 hours of labor in total. And the results, imo are worth it. Thats what i did today.

 

Try the accelerator pedal "double-tap" sometime (floor it, lift off for a half-sec, then floor it again). For whatever reason, this shoots you up close to redline, where the engine wakes up a bit. I've not felt like it was overly sluggish passing someone, but then I've also been driving TDI VWs for the past decade!

I did mine at 53,000 when it came on and had nothing on the magnet and fluid was still fairly clear. I also changed it myself with OEM fluid in 30 minutes.

 

No, I've been having weird vibration/noise while my car is engaged in Drive and Reverse. Maybe you got lucky. But no bullshit. at 4200 miles my oil in both the ENGINE and TRANSMISSION was brown with metallic debris. Just a heads up. If you're car isn't having any issues then ignore what I'm saying. But this is my current experience with a BRAN NEW 2016 Honda fit. I still love the car, but this is a profit driven world... btw i dont know any car that will have 'clear' fluid in the transmission after being driven 53k miles w/o any replacement in between. Thats bullshit lol.

 

WOW! Sounds like you have an issue. I would track all of this for warranty issues.

Getting married and moving, and the new house is gonna need a ladder, so I went to the big box home improvement store and bought a 22 ft ladder. Luckily it fits just fine in my 13 foot car

 

Put a few bits of velcro down. It tends to fly up when the windows are open

 

Yeah, I guess I should go ahead and do this. Velcro strips came with the mat so I'll probably attach it later this week when I get back in town.

 

Reinstalled OEM Hi tone horn with the Fiamm Freeway blaster Hi tone. Low tone is the Fiamm version. (so that's 3 horns altogether).

Installed a fake CF shift plate surround.

Installed JDM Hazard button.

 

I replaced the fluid in my son's Fit at about 27,000. At over $10/qt, it's very expensive fluid, but it's cheaper than a rebuild. Hopefully, the aftermarket will develop a compatible substitute. I'm going to continue changing it every 30k miles at the most.

 

Same here. I had the dealer do my first change at 30K, along with an alignment. I'll likely do my own changes going forward.

You did that by removing just the grill, rather than the entire front bumper?

 

Well, I stopped and got gas on my way to work this morning. While I was pumping gas I was think about all the cool mods I could do to my Fit.

 

Yes, I don't completely remove it. I just pull out all the plastic clips holding it in place, and roll it forwards towards the ground. The bottom is fairly flexible.

 

Sounds good. I removed the bumper to install my new horns, and after that, I decided my son can get by with the standard horns. I may try the grill-only technique.
