I don’t think it’s going to have any movement. I can use a dial indicator when complete to get some details. I’m using .125” thick and the ones you can purchase are .140”. Mine are wider and I did purchase and initially plan for a 1/8”x1/2” spine, if I decide to weld on a perpendicular spine. I know the ones you can purchase have been through a press brake on one side and my fabrication and machining background knows the possible importance of just one bend.

I am thorough with this type of stuff, so I will certainly keep you updated. At 265 pounds, and weighing 10 times that in a car wreck, I will definitely give all of this the proper attention. Thanks!

Any tips on how best (short of a full paint job, of course) to make these nasty little craters disappear? Thanks in advance!
If that's Modern Steel, you can get an OEM paint pen for it. It has clear coat on the other end.

I used the paint pen for my car's hood, and it was all good until I used the clear coat. Now I have hood acne. Don't use the clear coat!

Just boring stuff, here...brake fluid flush/fill and oil/filter change at the dealer, and cleaned the junk out of the back and drove with the rear seatbacks folded....can hear the Tanabe Medalion axleback a lot better with the seats down than upright, which is strange, as I don't have a cargo cover when seats are up, wouldn't think they'd block the sound in the cabin all that much. I like it

Clear coat is part of the paint system. I've used it with no problems. Do some research.

Super easy. I had to buy 5 feet of 3/8" inside diameter fuel/PCV hose to do the can. The stuff that came with it was absolute garbage. I made my own bracket in my shop at work. Otherwise it was pretty easy. 4 stainless hose clamps. Took 20-30 minutes.

I purchased an electric weed whacker folded the back seat flat it fits. Then my lawn mower starter cord snapped so took it to the repair shop. Wife wanted me to use the truck but I decided to use the Fit and it fits in there as well lol. I reckon it would fit in without folding the back seat.

Isn’t that the purpose of a PCV?

Well apparently it doesn’t work too well in this car because I see a lot of posts about carbon all over valves. Just in case you doubt it, my brother is a service manager at a Honda dealership and he even told me that putting the catch can and will prevent this in the future. I don’t mean to be rude but if it bothers you so much don’t worry about it just let people do what they want with the car the way they want it. If it prevents me from having to tear my intake off or have to pay someone hundreds of dollars to have the walnut blast done I’m gonna do it. It doesn’t hurt anything.... I’ll take my chances.

It doesn't >bother me so much<, I just want to understand the reason for adding it to what I thought was a pretty well engineered little car. I can only assume that Honda considered the amount of oil that gets past the PCV and determined that it wasn't harmful. If there are owners that think otherwise then that's their prerogative to add an aftermarket part.

As for me, I'll take my chances. Thanks for the justification, er, explanation.
