2015 Honda Fit M-CVT DRIVE PULLEY SHAFT recall

Ask For A Loaner Or A Free Rental While You Wait
I just had the CVT software/Pulley and Coil recalls performed. The dealership said it would probably take 2.5 hours to complete. I asked if they had a loaner vehicle I could use during the recall work. The service guy said they work with a rental car agency down the street and I would be reimbursed for the rental car cost. I went with the rental. The rental agency picked me up and I had to go thru the typical car rental process. The rental allowed me to run errands for 3 hours while my Fit was being worked on. At the end of the day, Honda deducted the rental car cost from my bill.
The recall work was free of course, but I also had them change my oil, oil filter and cabin air filter. So if you get the recall work done, ask for a loaner vehicle or a reimbursable rental to make the best use of your time.
BTW, after the recall work my Fit seemed a bit LESS peppy. Not sure, but I'll have to give it some more time for me to get used to.

Just had the CVT software update and the car now drives like having a CVT (linear acceleration like previous Camry Hybrid did). Honda used to have mimicked the steps of a normal automatic transmission in its CVT I always thought weird that seem to have disappeared (at least with the short drives thus far in economy mode I normally run enabled) with the software update.

I've finally got my CVT software update. Far as I can tell no difference. But it does pose a concern about longevity of the CVT shaft pulley belt since it would be using less pressure and will cause more slippage. I hope Honda realize by changing the specs from original design might cause it to fail sooner. Hope I am wrong as I plan to keep driving until the wheels fall off.

I'm still getting approximately 40mpg combined after the cvt recall. A little less with winter upon us...

Cold sucks the heck right out of everyones gas mileage.

If you live in California like I do winter fuel is worse on MPG. I had mine done a couple of weeks ago and didn't notice any difference in MPG.
