Cool chirsmast present. So you can buy matts, led lights, and maybe better speakers until they come! And real about fits so you will become familiar

I'm buying through the Costco Auto program. Should I contact my dealer and tell him that I really want a J-VIN? (Which I do?) What are the tradeoffs here and if you were buying (again, as a person keeping the care for 10+ years) what else would you ask for / buy as accessories?

Thanks in advance for your guidance

Buying programs are usually for vehicles that are in-stock, on the ground, at the dealership. That being said, it looks like the mix of JDM and Mexico built Fits are a 50-50 ratio, from what we will receive so far. This does vary by region, of course.

Your local dealer should know what vehicles in-transit are made in Japan. I would visit them in person and they should be able to assist you. Much better than simply calling.

If you are planning to keep the car a long time, look into an extended warranty and work on getting a good deal on that. The max warranty Honda offers is an 8 year/120k mile warranty. For me, if you are keeping it past four years, it's a no brainer. I know some with a first gen Fit whose AC condense went bad at around 40k miles. The part alone was $800 without labor. Fortunately she had an extended warranty, which covered the full repair.
Plus, if you did sell the Fit sooner than you expected, you call the warranty company and they will refund you the difference.

Hope this helps. PM me if you have any further or more specific questions!

With Costco, you sign up, are assigned a dealer, and then for popular cars wait for one to show up.

What are the costs on these and where can you find the best prices if not at the dealer.

I definitely use the aux in on my 1st gen. Fit.

Compared to bluetooth, it's more reliable, much higher audio quality, compatible with many more source devices, both effortless and bug-free to "pair" (plug in) with any compatible device, and adaptable with many other devices by using very low cost adapters.

Aux-in is pretty much a win in every way over bluetooth, unless you don't like the wire. Reliability and sound quality are the two things that make the biggest difference to me. I'm trying to get a schematic for the EX-L head unit, through my industry sources, and whether I can get a suitable aux-in solution will be one of the deciding factors for me when/if I buy my next Fit.
