How easy is it to replace the clutch ?

Not that I need a new clutch but I like doing things
myself on my car and I want to know if I will do it
myself when needed...

I'm able to do all the suspension and brake work,
easy enough for me but to replacethe clutch, do
I have to remove the complet trans ? Is it something
you can do at home with the right tool ??? I saw that
it need all kinds of bearing pullers, any regular tools can do it ???

It's just to know if I would do it myself with the
service manual...

advanced?

Everyone may not agree but generally a clutch is not an owner serviceable part. Sure it's possible but that task could well turn nightmarish at home by yourself.

You should be able do it easy, especially with the size of the fits tranny.

a word of caution...

I agree that the Fit's transmission is small, but having replaced several clutches I have to voice a word of caution:

The transmission on something like a S10 or Ranger might be big and heavy, but I actually found them easier (less frustrating) to work on than a small front wheel drive car, only because the engine compartments on front wheel drive cars are so tight. I haven't replaced the clutch on my Fit yet (I don't know how hard you'd have to drive a Honda to have to replace a clutch by now...2007), but I think the experience would be like the one I had working on an old Chevy Citation... that is... it was small and light, but frustratingly difficult to maneuver in the space available.

My advice: get the service manual, and take a long look and figure out if it'll be worth your trouble. If you can't tell whether or not it will be worth your trouble, it'll probably be difficult.

I've already replaced the clutch on the Fit and it is relatively easy, except that you have to drop the crossmember in order to remove the transmission. If you don't have a lift and a trans jack, I would highly recommend that you take it to a shop to get the job done.
