having only highbeams and no foglights have like a dark gap between the bottom of the highbeam line and your car. With the foglights w/ highbeams it pretty much clears that up. I did both mods on my car and wouldn't have it any other way I got 5000k hi/lo and 5000k foglights w/ yellow film so it turns green when turning on but then becomes yellow. Looks awesome though maybe i'll record it for you guys and post it. When I find the time I will.

EDIT: +1 for you Rubba for making em work

hehe LEDs my friend ;] there 8500k LEDs, there just for show, they dont actually emit light THAT far, like you can see it on a wall/road, but it wont actually illuminate it lol not even close, reflectors at most.

im actually thinkin of doing a video of the lights, 3 2-way passes: ind fogs with LED, fog n headlights + led, then fogs n high beams +led. ill be able to hear what stock exaust sounds like too hehe

thanks for the rep :P lol rep back ;]

instead of cutting the wire under the steering column then running it back to the fuse box, I think we could cut the wire closer to the fuse box then attach it to whatever 12v source we want thus negating the need to run an "extra" wire
does anybody know where the other end of the red/yellow wire leads to?
for a cleaner install we could connect the red/yellow wire to the underside of the fuse box and just plug in a fuse to supply 12v

Hey,
Just finished this mod and it worked perfectly. The only thing I think may be different for me is the fact that my headlights still have the daytime running feature enabled. I thought this mod would change it so my daytime lights are disabled. I live in Canada and I purchased my fit from a local dealer so Im not sure if its the laws we have in place and hence a different wiring scheme for the lights. My question is for anyone who knows how to disable the daytime running feature on 07 sport fits. For those who dont know what that means - when my headlight switch is set to "off" I always have dim lights from the headlamps.

Any fixes to disable this feature would be greatly appreciated - PM me or reply here
THanks!!
Z

Hey thanks fitster,
Im finally about to install my 6000k's from xenith so I will pull the DRL fuse when i get to it!

**EDIT

Ok so its not as easy as I thought it would be...I see the fuse box, I see that some are marked. I just cant seem to see which is the DRL fuse?

anyone have a diagram of which one to pull? or which one the DRL is relative the slot 3 where the add a circuit was plugged into?

Thanks

Did this mod last week and it was a breeze. Rewiring the fog relay was a bit of a squeeze though, but nothing impossible.

Only thing I did differently was instead of tapping off of fuse slot #3, I used slot #2, which was empty. You just need to plug the add-a-circuit into slot #2, then a 10A fuse into the add-a-circuit. No need to cram things around!

Sounds like you might have given it some juice where none was needed. I did the same trying to get my Base fogs to run independently (which did NOT work as the wiring is different). Try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes and see what happens. I had the check engine and TPMS lights on at one point.

Yeah disconnect your battery and reconnect it again. You'll have to reset your stereo clock but it should turn right off.

I did this mod myself today, same thing happened and i freaked hah. But i had a buddy who knows his stuff and helped disconnect the battery and reconnect it.

Great write up

yep, any electrical or sensors that come up, check if it its true or not. Like if theres a TPMS light on, check your tires, if all is fine, then disconnect the battery, wait, and reconnect, this is for any times.

happens to almost everyone, pop the hood, take out the ground wire (you have to loosen the bolt, its safe) wait about 5 mins, then put it back together and it should be good. this resets the sensors and such, but also the radio, so make sure u have teh radio code when doing this, and congrats

hey guys sorry to ask such a noob question but when do you use just the fog lights? seems like the only time you'd use fog lights would be in conjunction with the regular headlights. I'm asking because I'm considering doing this because it seems cool, but seeing as to how I've never done anything like this before I don't want to run the risk of damaging my car

-shrugs- its just for looks. the only time when it could be useful for the road is when its almost night time, and the headlights can be somewhat too strong for the oncoming driver (it is on mine) so foglights can be useful to let your position be known to oncoming cars and still not blind them. Also for good looks
