H-Fit Supa Sucka Intake Now Available!
sounds good. (literally. hahaha).
yes, most definitely remove the battery when you do the install. much
easier that way. i dont think you can install it with the battery there.

I didn't remove it. I just loosened the hold down and shifted it over as far as it would go and then there was enough room to install the intake.
ez
that's wat ive read... no go for mine. plus the battery is tiny on this
car so no big deal.
At 55 mph I'm getting 37.5 mpg, not bad considering that I have my tires at 30 lbs. front 24 lbs. rear stone cold. The car rides and handles perfectly that way and it seems OK for even tire wear as well. Hard to say if there is a discernable difference in performance with the Supa Sucka, after all it is just an intake. I've been extra cautious in assuming power gains since the sound is so different, it's easy to get excited. But I have to admit that there have been two times now in the mid range when I was thinking about something else and then that little extra umph got my attention. That's good enough for me, especially considering that now I can play the exhaust/intake sounds like a musical instrument with pedal and rpm's and have as quiet and as WAAAAAUUUUUU a sound as I want. The sound range is really awesome and makes the car an absolute delight to drive. So count me a satisfied customer.
Do you have any videos and sound clips of your Fit? It sounds like you have the same set up I'm getting. Still waiting on everything to get here tho. I'm having doubts as to whether I made the right decision with the SSI and the Megan exhaust. Maybe I should have spent a couple more hundred and got a bit more performance from it. I hope the intake doesn't just affect the sound... last minute jitters, I guess. Heh.
+1 on the satisfaction. I had the SSI for about 7k miles now and I'm still enjoying it. I had the K&N SRI before it's so *****cking hard to install and there wasn't much difference so it's in my garage covered w/ dust.

around 28psi, i think. anyway, sounds good that you are feeling the
benefit of the chambered intakes. (personally i dont use the RF
modules on my aftermarket wheels so i have a steady TPMS light
)i think h-fit's initial goal was to improve the immediate response in
mid-rpm range using the chamber. then freeing up the air on the
higher side while minimizing intake temp, so you're feeling exactly that.
I have a constant TPMS light and just ignore it. The handling really is sweet. The more I drive the car, the more I agree that H-Fit did exactly what you say. I'm really happy with the intake, and I just happen to like the clean, uncluttered, un-blingy look. It's now starting to make a slight vibration in my door panel at the peak of it's shout. I think it's pretty cool! The car really does feel responsive.
Alright, I installed it and I have to admit I was a bit nervous the entire time. I'm not a "car" guy so this was a big deal for me. lol It didn't move as smoothly as some of the people in here mentioned but I got it done in a couple hours. It's awfully snug in there and the thought of it not working out as well as the factory one keeps nagging me. Plus I'll admit I'm a bit worried about the factory warranty thing. Heh. Sorry, this was my first mod on my 08 Fit so I'm just being overly cautious, I guess.
Haven't really tested it out yet as I'm nearly on empty at the moment. I'm going to drive it in to town for gas and will be driving it about an hour into St. Louis tonight to see my girlfriend. I'll report back afterwards. I did give it a couple revs and you can hear it sucking air. Still nervous looking at that thing sitting in there pushing and shoving its way through all the other components while my stock one sits in a box on the ground. Please God don't mess up engine... lol

Alright, I've driven it over 170 miles over the weekend and for the most part I have to agree with what everyone else has said. I'll give a basic run down of my experience.
For the most part the install was a breeze even for a novice like myself. A few things did pop up as problems though. When mounting the SSI to the actual engine I found that the original factory screws were longer without the use of the grommet. This would have been fine but the further you screwed it in the more it started digging into a rubber piece protecting some wires. So I hunted for a screw with the same thread (only shorter) and used that instead. That was the biggest problem I found. Also the snug fit leaves something to be desired. The intake touches the battery and the K&N filter just barely touches the transmission cap. It feels kind of crowded but I'm guessing any intake would really be screaming for room in the Fit's engine bay.
After I got everything to "fit" snugly I took it for a nice long test drive to see my girlfriend. At first I don't think the car quite new what to do with it. It shifted oddly at times (I drive an automatic) and often revved pretty high from a stop when accelerating aggressively. But over the course of my 170 mile journey this weekend it started performing much better. I didn't notice a HUGE difference in performance overall. It seemed more like a device to make the Fit engine sound cool at high RPMs and to give the Fit a bit more pep for passing people on the highway. Heh. But nothing that will really blow your socks off. Actually I felt kind of stupid at times burning down the highway with my engine sounding so loud and only slipping by other cars very slowly. lol I kind of felt like a wannabe. I'm not gonna lie. But there were other times where the car surprised me when I did need to get around someone and it seemed to help a bit more where the Fit usually struggles. I guess that's all I can really ask from it!
I'd be interested to hear what it sounds like when I get my Megan Axle Back in the next week or so. The thing can get pretty damn loud. You feel the roar in the floor boards. And there does seem to be more resistance against my foot when getting on the gas pedal. All in all I think I'm satisfied. I'm going to continue to ride it out and see if it's still fun or if it just starts feeling obnoxious. Doing this to my car just reminded me of the reason why I bought it... fuel economy. And without a turbo charger I think I'll just continue to look like an economy car with a complex. Heh. But hey, that's kind of cool too, I guess.
Speaking of fuel economy... mine went down quite a bit but mostly just from revving and such all weekend. Maybe in the next couple weeks I'll post back with more results. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. I'd like to hear about more people's impressions! And thanks H-Fit for your fast service and easy to install device. Not sure if it was worth the money I spent just yet but it has been a fun little extra that makes me wanna drive more!
Too bad I just dropped the Fit off at the body shop tonight for paint work on my rear bumper. Hope I'll have it back tomorrow!

Hey, Ryno man, it's fine. Your experience is pretty normal and it will not harm your engine. Samwell, it shouldn't leak unless you didn't align or tighten something properly. Ryno, once you get the Megan axleback in you will love it from the first time you turn the key. Remember, an axleback and an intake is not major speed equipment, maybe in the neighborhood of 2-10 horsepower at peak horsepower rpm total. The major difference is in sound and a little more punch in the mid-range. I think it's worth every penny, I love how my car drives and sounds now. Also, the experience of lower gas mileage at first due to heavier gas pedal is normal! The L15A is a jewel of an engine and all we have done is removed a little flow restriction at both ends. It likes it!
Just picked up my Fit today after it got a little paint work. The rear bumper got scuffed up pretty good from some other fool's license plate. Argh.
I have to say that I'm really enjoying this intake and I'm starting to notice the added power. My gas mileage has suffered but not that much... even with me laying into it alot. I did have a question tho. My air filter seems to be just barely touching the cap near it... i think it's a radiator cap? It's got Japanese text on it. That thing gets hot. Any worries? Are you guys havin' any issues?
I get my Megan Axle Back on Friday. I'll let you know how it sounds, man!

The mounting bracket is slotted in order to give you some adjustment. Mine is mounted with the bolt tightened all the way at the very far end of the slot in order to clear everything and to be square with the engine.

You may need to tweak the adjustment like ezman says. Initially it's easiest to get it all aligned perfectly with the battery out. Once it's in right and the bracket is adjusted right like ez says, and the battery is eased all the way to the right of its travel, nothing should be touching.

I'll have to look this over again this weekend sometime to make sure it's all good. If I can't get it I'll post some pics and you guys can tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for all the help! Now if only I can kill the person who dinged my driver side door today right after getting my Fit's bumper fixed at the auto body shop. I wanna kill someone!! ARGH!!
i need to clean the air filter soon. i only got about 3k miles on it but
the damn dandelion seeds are all over.
anyone know the part number of the K&N filter that's on there off hand?
im thinking of just getting another filter so that i can clean one while i
run one with no down time.
i dont think it would dry completely over night...
