Hey Guys, just recieved an email last night from H-Fit with the HP and Torque Graphs. I will attach them here. Having a hard time reading them so feel free to post the overall HP and Torque increases and your opinions of the graphs. Hope this helps some of you "on the fence". 1st one is HP

Here is the graph for Torque. Is also one for Air Temp but have to go to work and don't have time for that lol.

My impression of the SS so far...

Before I go any further I want to state that I do not work for H-Fit.com in any way, it doesn't take a detective to figure out who I work for though, my avatar and signature are hints if you can't figure it out.

My daily commute to work is 120 miles a day round trip at least 5 days a week. Most of that is is highway with random NYC style traffic jams mixed in.

Performance mods on my A/T Fit Sport so far:

- Fujitsubo Power Getter Cat-back exhaust (sweeeeeet but considering going J's Racing titanium! Need $$$)
- Megan Racing Header (OK for now but considering J's Racing)
- Mythology Lightweight Pullley (So far, So good!)
- T1R Coilover Suspension (Love 'em!)
- 16" SSR Comp C's (11.5 lbs each )
- BF Goodrich G-Force Sports in 205/45ZR16 (sooner or later I'll get them to squeal in turns! Awesome summer tires.)

and of course the H-Fit Super Sucka Intake.

I've had other intakes on my vehicle before. In order:

- Fujita Cold Air Intake - we actually had to force fit this in my engine bay! This was over a year ago when the Fit first came out and aftermarket intake choices were limited. Worked better than stock but got scratched against the A/T housing and radiator cap. No Good.

-Fujita Short Ram Intake - sent as a replacement free of charge from Fujita(GREAT Customer Sevice IMHO!!!) for all my trouble with their CAI. Fit perfectly but I really missed the Cold Air Induction sound.

- Injen Cold Air Intake - does fit A/T transmission Fit's no problem. Sounds nice under hard acceleration! I personally loved it until I was caught in a torrential downpour one day and got caught trying to cross an over 1 foot deep puddle on the highway. Disater! Replaced my engine thanks to "gettinafit" who just happened to have his engine lying around since he's going the K20 route. I ended up turning the Injen CAI to a SRI by removing the rubber tubes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway about the Super Sucka intake.

I got in on one of the first few orders so H-Fit threw in a free T-Shirt. NICE!

The Super Sucka Intake is alot like Glock pistols. You can have them in any color you like as long as it's black. Also, they just flat out work!

I liked CAI intakes very much and was very skeptical of chamber style intakes. I mean c'mon it's getting hot air from under the hood for Christ's sake! CAI's should be better because they redirect the air filter to outside the hot engine bay right?

I can tell you honestly that the theory behind chamber intakes actually works!

Super Sucka vs Short Ram Intakes:
The Super Sucker beats out short ram intakes easily. When driving around with an SRI, my car always felt like the engine was struggling and never had enough torque unless I kept the RPM's annoyingly high. This probelm was really evident on long gradual uphill roads. Ugh! With the Super Sucka Intake the engine feels like it's "Right There, Right Now!" it now responds when I want it to and I don't have to downshift to a lower gear in Sport mode. Midrange response (3000rpm - 5000rpm) seems greatly improved, which makes normal daily driving an absolute joy. There is also a nice deep sound that resonates from the Super Sucka intake under "aggressive acceleration"...your girlfriend/wife/really conservative friends might not like it however! I know I set off at least one car alarm in a parking lot yesterday by holding the gear at 2nd as I left.

Super Sucka vs. Cold Air Intakes:
In my experience Cold Air Intakes work great as long as it never ever rains and if you're always flying around full speed ahead. My opinion is that daily driveability is just adequate and I feel you really have to get the car moving pretty quickly to really take advantage of CAI's, the sound that resonates from the long tube is pretty nice though.
The Super Sucka does have that same nice intake sound with one major advantage...in order for me to hydro/vacuum lock my engine again I'm going to have to submere my car up to the windows! No more worries when it gets wet outside. Daily driveability is way better as I now don't have to stomp on the gas pedal to get my car to react. On hard acceleration(highway on ramps and merges) the "butt dyno" tells me that the SSI feels the same, if not better, than the CAI. I'm thrilled!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Do I have any gripes about the Super Sucka? Yes.
- That damn bolt installation for the bracket was tough. Have patience and use needle nose plies to hold it in place.

- I can't stand that you have to use the stock copper breather tubes. It looks ugly that way! I cut a piece of that same copper and used it as an adapter to connect up some rubber hose I had. Looks much better.

Keep in mind this is MY OPINION based on MY EXPERIENCES with my 07 Honda Fit Sport AT with over 40,000 miles as of this posting. It's still too early to tell if there are any positive/negative effects of this intake on mpg...I'm having too much fun driving hard with it.

Does it work? Hell yes! The current introductory pricing($240.00 shipped) also beats out every other chamber style option that I know of.

If you are sitting on the fence on this one allow me to push you over. The dyno charts are now posted on the H-Fit website and I'm glad I jumped on this deal!

Thanks H-Fit, looking forward to future offerings. Oh and the mailman just dropped off the stickers. Thanks X 2!!!

Actually they come in desert tan, olive drab and a pixeled desert camo now too!!! (The Glock's I mean!)

Great write up on this. Looks like a great item albeit not the prettiest, but definitely functional.

Wave-

EXCELLENT review! With your personal background with all styles of intakes, and after reading H-Fit's design philosophy and hp/torque charts, another Supa Sucka is now sold (just not purchased yet).

Using Glock pistols in your review was very apt. As an amateur gunsmith, I am an admirer of many brands of auto-loading pistols. Compared to some models, the Glock is aesthetically plain and a little ugly, but for its purpose, the design is perfect. I consider the oddly-named Supa Sucka to be the Glock of the chamber intakes. The engineers at H-Fit actually graduated with a degree, unlike the clowns at K&N.

For H-Fit intake owners and people who some day will be, I noticed on eBay Motors the other day that a vendor is selling a universal-fit stainless steel "heat shield" for SRI intakes. My only interest in a heat shield is to act as a barrier to keep incoming rain water from the grill area from bathing the filter. If this interests you, the S.S. clamp-on shields were selling for about $15.00 if I remember correctly.

i was just joking when i said wait for a group buy in order to save money, the company just started selling its product last july /13/2007,chances of groupbuy is verry slim in my opinion but you never know when there will be one,if you will compare the prices of available chamber intake T1R, LAST STATION, & hopefully the J'S RACING the price of Supa Suca is the lowest right now, some member's think it's the ugliest but who care's on it's appearance if the performace stands on itself ? however if you can afford T1R,or last station or j's racing because you want appearance & performance then i would say go for it,buy what makes you happy.

sounds like a good product.. but I'm confused about those dynos.

What's up with the stock torque curve? It dips a lot, my dyno of my stock fit does not have it dipping at all, but rather a nice straight torque line across the graph.. Gains don't look too astounding but I'm still interested in this intake.. I was skeptical that the Fit could hydrolock, considering the intake is on the driver side of the car, making puddles a little less dangerous.. (I've hydrolocked my integra)

I think the torque curves show a little unusual shape because we used a dynapack dyno for testing due to the increased accuracy and control of the dynapack over roller type dynos such as dynojets.

We did perform about 5 runs on a dynojet 248 and these graphs were pretty smooth but when vtec switched we lost the tach signal for some reason on every run so we decided not to use the dynojet.

We chose to use the Dynapacks because they bolt directly to the axle negating traction loss on roller type dynos.

As for the funny graph, and what I believe is the cause, I think that being that the dynapacks "brake" the engine prior to "letting go" for the dyno run, this crazy curve is the result.

Dynapack dynos will hold the wheels at a preset RPM in the beginning of a dyno run regardless of throttle position.

In this run's case the gas pedal was at WOT and I believe the dynapack was holding the wheels to 750 rpm. Where the immediate increase in torque occurs at 750 rpm is where the dynapack "let go" of the wheels. If you notice on the graph the SSI produces an immediate surge of torque where the stock intake takes a little while to build it up. This is a visual representation of why the chamber type intake is better in throttle transition and sudden intake air requirement changes, lets call this the "reservoir effect" for lack of better words.

I was looking to see if the dyno facility could set up the dynapack to brake the wheels every 1000 rpm and hold them there for 1-2 seconds then release. For example, rev to 1000rpm...hold at 1000rpm...release and accelerate to 2000rpm...hold at 2000rpm..etc. to redline. This would have shown this "reservoir effect" more clearly. Each time the dyno would release the wheels you would be able to see a similar increase in torque as is shown between 750 and 2000rpm. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time on the dyno to set all this up.

I hope this helped interpret the graphs a little better, or maybe I made everyone a little more confused?

Wave, Thanks for the review, We are flattered that you have compared us to as well made a pistol as a Glock. Being into firearms myself I can completely understand the analogy you were making which makes the comparison mean that much more.

Thanks again!

thank you for the clarification. I ran my Fit on a dynojet and at first had issues w/ RPM's but they did something and it hooked up good. I'm sure the SSI does improve tq and throttle response greatly.. Too bad I don't have the $$ for it yet =( hope this special lasts awhile =)

The performance and price of the H-Fit Supa Sucka has reduced the price of ONE competitive intake--- MINE. My NEW, IMPROVED Type II K&N Typhoon Short Ram Intake is for sale at HALF PRICE. I paid $232.00,will sell to anyone who has completely read my thread "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit" (so you will know what you are buying), for $116.00, UPS Ground shipping is free, and I accept credit card orders. Will re-post in the classified forum.

This SRI WORKS, you just have to take the system apart to service the filter. See K&N's web site for dyno charts showing power gains.

Thanks man. No one has kicked the sh!t out of your intake's reputation, so you should have better luck.

today is the day. looking forward to something waiting for me when I get home from work. will probably not install to tomorrow as have lots of errands to run this evening plus supposed to get more t-storms here in Nj. will install and take for a extensive test drive tomorrow. will post my thoughts on it before the weekend is thru. sure I will just have to agree with Wave's assessment even though he has all those other mods done to his Fit and i am bone stock still. hoping that still makes a difference even without headers, exhaust, pulley, etc... have a great feeling it will. can't wait for the exhaust to come out from H-Fit. not going to buy anything till it does. seems like a great company to do business with which i am sure most of you agree. ok well its early, im rambling, off to work now lol ......
