i believe what manxman is trying to say is that by them applying for carb certification, it is a gesture of care and attention to people who have to abide by these laws because of the state they live in. but honestly, unless your running anything short of a turbo, a cop isnt going to care about some little cai. and if they do, they are dicks! manxman, you are letting people get to you that have a valid point. most parts that arent carb legal are the best ones, because they are the most performance engineered parts. they dont have to tip toe around some bs emission laws that shouldnt apply to little 1.5 four bangers.
this thread is just another example of clashing opinions. and thats what they are, OPINIONS! and you know what they say about those.......like a-holes blah blah.

i wonder if my ass is carb legal? i like to fart alot. ima polluter =)

Kelsey,
Thanks for your attempt to "translate" my already clearly stated opinion addressed to H-Fit. But your translation will be just as lost as my original statement on these brain damaged children. It is actually entertaining to see handicapped people melt down into flaming and keyboard diarrhea, without even realizing that they are being baited.

Fortunately, the H-Fit people are intelligent, reasonable adults, and they got the point. The fact that the flamers didn't, and won't, ever, is to be expected. H-Fit's feelings are not hurt the least bit by my disinterest in their system until they show enough responsibility to earn my order. The insane reactions of total strangers to this is hilarious!

To the children, PLEASE! Keep up the flaming. As long as you do, you keep this subject in a position of "front page news" as you keep exposing your own irrationality. I look forward to each new text-tantrum. Bye now.

Hey Manx,

How about starting up your own discussion instead of having a flame war in MY thread? I can appreciate the opinions but it's getting close to derailing a pretty good topic.

I'm not one of the flamers if I merely respond to unprovoked attacks. I didn't flame the product, and I didn't even tell anyone NOT to buy it. The derailing is the result of others. My post to H-Fit was valid, and did not ask for advice.

so i guess what wave is trying to tell you is that you should address your concerns to them in another (as in not this one) thread.

In reply to the last flamer and derailer, that's too bad. He'll accept what he can't change because he's an adult. Traits that you don't possess.

Hi all,

I think this CARB thing has got outta control here.

Manxman is making a very valid point on CARB exemption.

It is also totally the customer's discretion if they choose to purchase our intake or not due to the fact that it is currently not CARB approved. We understand this.

Being that CARB approval is CA only, many manufacturers choose to not seek approval for their products based on their projected sales in this state.

As previously posted by another fitfreak member sometimes it does not make economical sense, or the manufacturer feels that the additional product cost injected by the CARB approval would limit sales outside of CA.

In our case, however, it is a matter of resources not a lack of interest or capital. We are in no way abandoning our effort to obtain approval, but our engineering staff is currently working diligently on new product. This is currently consuming the most of our resources.

Thanks again

Thanks James.
Your statement is completely clear, and it fits with all of your past posts regarding your company's design and marketing philosophy. It is also representative of intelligent, rational, adult thinking. Much appreciated, and rare.

The funny think for me when I had my cars with an intake the smog check guys don't care. They care more about my header than the intake. They said don't worry about it we can pass the intake but not the header. You can if you have the paper work from another carb intake and show that paper work to the smog guys. If they ask where is the carb sticker on the intake say it came off. because some intakes that are carb legal have only sticker carbs in which you have to put on.

the intake is UGLY but I have to admit, I'm curious about trying one. I've never used a chambered intake on anything before and I'm not really sure how its surpossed to help. The idea seems logical but seeing that it has a big hole in it (air filter) I don't see how its supposed to hold air in the chamber. Its definetly an interesting concept though, I might end up picking one up to try.

Anyone get a pulsating action when you rev your engine above 5k rpm's in neutral? I never had this happen until I installed this supa sucker.

I just picked up this intake used and it sounds great between 4000 and 6000 rpms, but not obnoxiously loud. And power... I clearly felt something. Second gear barks the tires instead of barely chirping them. It does look funny though, i am not gonna lie and I wish the filter was larger.
