A dynamic tensioner is an automatic tensioner. An automatic tensioner is spring loaded.

High boost for AT

Can you explain why you won't have high-boost for AT?

Which brings me to my next question, what kind of reliability are you seeing with the auto tensioner? Reason I ask, it's not uncommon for them to fail relatively early in the K series life cycle. For example, my former mother-in-laws auto tensioner went out in her '03 CRV after only 40K miles. So...are those going to be easy to replace and with replacement kits available?

i understand your question, but given as how the k series is a totally different engine, would it be wrong to think that the fit may not really be that prone to this problem, at least not as much as the k series has been?

It's not supposed to be a normal wear item like spark plugs, fuel filters, etc, so if Honda can't find a consistently reliable component then I would suspect that the aftermarket would be even less unlikely to find it. Certainly could be proven wrong about that though in this case.

Oh....and Merry Christmas!

I would imagine that the tensioner and pulley are replacement items on the same schedule as the belts. Inspect and replace as required. Self-contained bearings - all it takes is a little dirt or too much pressure and the bearings fail.

So, any idea when the kit will achieve CARB certification?

my guess is the stock AT might not do so well with the added power. Over time the clutches might wear quicker, or the tranny will start soft shifting, etc. Hondas are great... but their auto trannies don't have a great track record. At least that is my experience, things could be different.

Kraftwerks feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.

Nice dyno curve... pretty much the geometry I would expect for an SC setup.

can this thing be installed by itself, as in no other mods.. stock exhaust etc?

I read the siphon article and it says it's fairly quiet and gives the impression of a larger engine at all rpm's. They compared it to a stock fit on the same run for mpg purposes and it only lost about 1.5mpg compared to stock (something like 29mpg vs 27mpg 91 octane, running some mountain road or whatever)

Oscar, a few questions that came to mind:
What's your warrantee on the charger? Will the manual for it provide preventive maintenance recommendations? Will the introductory price be a little lower than $3500? What's your estimated time of CARB approval and while pending CARB, what type of "certificate" of pending proof will you provide in the mean time? Looking forward to your SC release. Thanks, Alan.

Last question...will the SC ECU update remove speed limiter and increase RPM/redline?

ERR what speed limiter? I think if you read the following threads you will see the FIt DOES NOT have a speed limiter.

i belive that redline increases from 6500 to 6720 or something like that. but its no biggie.

some light on the auto tranny's ability to handle power would be great, i wonder if kraftwerks is currently testing on one that has had a decent amount of miles logged on it?

what can we do to streghnthen our transmission?

i know honda A/T are the most amazing thing ever, but i think it should at least be able to handle 150whp. would honda really just build the components to that they are barely adequate for what the car pushes out? isn't it the hardiness of honda's that have made them great platforms for tuning to being with?
