my lil bro's h22 hatchback got 40mpg if you weren't burying your foot in it all the time. a k-series should get better mileage than the L15 because you have more hp and torque available earlier so you can almost idle the car and it will move along.

NA k-swap would be off the hook, and the accord block with k-pro and RSX typeS intake manifold you would have a super tidy, lower cost kswap

yea, if i did a k, id either go k24 with a k20 head or get my hands on a jdm k20a. probably go with the k20a because with all the torque from the low end of the k24, there would be MAJOR traction problems.

k20a is total win. 220hp from the RSX Type R, you could literally justifiably call the Fit a "Fit Type R"

yupp. i think the k24 is a little more faster. but both motors are about the same price. i would do a k20a with crv block. k swap is total sleeper.

Why would you spend 5k on a k20a to rip it apart and use a shitty bottom end? If you're going to do a k24 bottom end, there is no sense is spending money on a k20a. Not to mention the 4.7 fd in the type r trans would made for retarded traction issues with the extra torque. K24xx block/K20a2 head/ Ips xx cams/Pistons/ rods/ rbc IM= 270-290whp 210-220 tq.

In my opinion though, the k20 is the best fit. Block height on the k24 would make even more issues for no real advantage in my opinion. The only way I would go k24 is IF I was going boost.

how much would it cost for a k24 turbo swap? I'm thinking I'll have 10g's saved up around this time next year and would kill to do this once all my other mods are out of the way like big brakes and suspension/body stuff.

r u a grandma?
seriously......."utterly useless" u should write for the national enquirer!!!!
but seriously........"utterly useless" r u 4 real?
maybe u should get into r/c sailboats
glad that's only your opinion...maybe the first couple of gears would be a handful but u should easily be able to floor it in 3rd, 4th and 5th
IMO a 500whp Fit would be about pushing the limits.....
usability is all about the USER i.e. THE DRIVER

i think a k20 swap adds about 200lbs to the front end
boo 4 handling (at the limit)!!!!!!
u have to upgrade the front suspension if u don't want your fit to handle like a buick

Im going K24 from a cr-v because you can get them for around $1k and then later putting a k20 head and boosting it.

If you already have coilovers(which I do) all you have to do is replace the springs.

Need some advice about the k-swap in a 2008-2010 honda fit

Hey everybody, I was wondering if i can get some advice from you about the Honda Fit K20 Swap… I’m in the process of doing the swap and want to know these answers:

1) Is the swap hard to do?
2) Is it the DC5 Type R K20a Engine with Transmission and with engine harness and Suspension, Brakes, Axles???
3) Which Radiator do i use? The one with the original Honda Fit or the one from the DC5 Type R??

I need some advice on how the swap is going to go.

I'd have to agree with these guys actually. Unless somehow the Fit is converted to AWD (Like the custom awd converted Civics), it'd be very difficult to harness the extra power. Wider tires and extra weight up front may not be enough for grip.

This is NOT to say that I wouldn't want to own such a beast though. This thread is about the pros/cons of a K20 swap though. So carry-on!

3) Tire-spinning fury-traction will be an issue.
Hello from 2020!

How could you counter uneven weight distribution?
Wider tires? Better suspension? Stiffer sway bar? Bags of sand in the rear?

Yes Yes . . . Yes

i couldn’t imagine the look, the ego bludgeoning feel of a V8 driver when a FIT embarrasses them on the highway. That alone makes the swap worth doing. I mean, with lite suspension mods alone I’m doing 100 where others start backing off.
