Thanks for the info about the filter changing intervals Chikubi. I got a powerbox since December and i like it. I don't feel that big of a power gain though since my car is an automatic. Car sure revs a whole lot smoother. There is slight decrease in low-end torque. Customer service is top-notch... that is what I enjoy about Japanese tuning shops. Turn-around time for the intake is 3 days from Japan. They mistakenly sent me the wrong bracket; took them another 3 days to send it which wasn't a problem for me. Shipping is way better than the US 'brown.'

Here are some comparative pictures between the stock and the powerbox:

Question regarding installation:
Beside stock filter box removal, did you need to remove the stock airbox too (the white box before the filterbox)?

BTW, how does the Powerbox suite the L13A engine?
I am eager to any info regarding this engine as I plan to buy a intake system that suits my engine the best.
Any recommendations (maybe you Jeno)??

Thanks in advance.

No problem at all, sorry it took a while. I agree with you that there is a bit of a drop in the low-end torque, but not very much at all, and it's not really a surprise either since the PB we have is tuned for mid-high end power. The other PB version is for low-end power, but we can't use it unfortunately. I don't know how you drive, and with an auto I can't say either, but, on mine w/ the manual, once you're in the 3500/4000+ RPM zone the throttle response is soooo much better than stock -- it really snaps when you step on it coming out of the corners. Soo much fun! Also, noticed your PB doesn't have a plug for the JDM sensor hole like mine. Interesting since they had mentioned they'd be plugging them instead of just producing them w/ the correct USDM placement when we were test fitting mine originally. That's cool, looks same as JDM model then.

I hear you. I'm waiting until Spring before doing anything more to mine. I want to do the J's 50RR and maybe the header too, and that's gonn be bucks, so just holding out until then to build up the cash. It's cold and snowing here anyway, so not like I need the mods yet anyhow.

I do think you'll enjoy the PB though when you do pick one up.

On the USDM Fit you need to remove the entire airbox assembly and rubber intake hose coming from the fender. Our setup seems to be different from most of the rest of the world's Fits, so can't say for sure on your car.

As for your engine, I think the PB'll work just fine and give you excellent performance based on what I've seen posted from Japanese 1.3 owners. If you car's RHD, then even better as you can use either model PB, so you can opt for more low-end torque, or go for mid-high end gains like our USDM Fits.

Where did you find the posts of Japanese users?

Chikubi, I think they revised the USDM intakes after learning about the fitment issues on your car. I have to agree, the engine opens up after 3k and revs easily to redline (as advertised). I also noticed that the tranny shifts smoother than before. I usually don't drive my car hard because all the pot holes around town. My Fit is no sports car so I drive it like a normal vehicle. But the highlight of this car is how it handles the turns... I love to take corners a little faster; this car is really inspiring around turns.

i couldn't pass on a deal on a used T1R intake so I'm hoping to have similar results since that has been dyno tested already.

gotta stop modding! lol

On the Japanese auto blog site, Minkara. They have a listing of owners' parts reviews that you can search by part type and vehicle, and I browsed through that. Here's the link to the intake list:

http://minkara.carview.co.jp/parts/u...x?mo=3451&ci=3

It's all in Japanese of course, but there's pics and star ratings, and many of the titles are in English, so it may help you out still somewhat if you don't know Japanese.

Yeah, looks good on you car I do say. Definitely you need to take a short trip out of town and do some "inspired" driving if you ever get the chance. I think you'll be amazed at just how far you can push it and stay in control (on the stock tires even).

rcantu: I don't think you'll be disappointed at all -- T1R is a great intake, not so different from the PB. If I couldn't get the PB, I would've done the T1R without question.

rcantu, are you the same person on club4ag that recently bought and sold a black limited ae86? I have an AE86 in addition to my Fit... AE86 is a lot more fun to drive, but the Fit is a lot more reliable.

Wow, beautiful AE86. That isn't Sage Francis or Rubelcon's car?

My PB is good. Only problem i've encountered is the tendency for the battery to move close to the intake. All i did was reposition the battery as far away to the intake as possible and tightening the tie downs as much as possible without deforming the battery's top seat.

I think you will enjoy it. It's the original chamber intake for Fit, and I still think the best. I have yet to have any issues with it and have never once regretted buying it.
