How'd you install it? Can you do a write up? It involved cutting obviously.

Hey - let me try to ressurect this thread.

This dude is using a Momo MT knob on his auto. check it out:

One in theory cut down the outer tube, and leave the inner plastic tube as is. Put on a MT knob like a momo which is spring loaded and allows some play vertically. Then when you press down the safety engages.

This is the exact theory I was planning to go with if I made a new knob for my Fit. Press down to get the locked out modes instead of a button.

You would need a bearing in the knob recess for the stock shaft to ride in. Otherwise you would stress the center - and that was not designed for lateral movement. But, a bearing could be easily turned from delrin or some other common bearing plastic.

So i was wondering..would an 09 AT knob works for an 07?
