Just picked up some V720s in 225/45/15, soo far I really liked both the A052s and CR-1/S in 205/50/15 they are equally as fast on track even tho the Nankangs weigh 4lbs more per tire.
Are your 16" TEs going to be used for daily driver duties ? Excited to see what they look like on the car!

I got too good of a deal on the R888Rs to pass up. Since I'm going to be running a staggered tire setup for my TEs (225/45 & 205/50), the 225/45R16 tire size doesn't offer very many options. I want to try the A052, but I think it's too much tire for me with my current driving skill(s). As in, I wouldn't make the most out of the tire and it'd be masking my (lack of) skills. I think the TEs will probably wind up being used for daily driving since I love them so much, but I wouldn't have a problem taking them to the track as well. It just makes more sense to run the 15s at the track for financial reasons.
When I do the K24 swap though, I think 16s will be the move which is where the TEs will be utilized more. Having both 15s and 16s will allow me to mess around and experiment. I hadn't bothered to look into the weights of those two tires, but that's a surprisingly-large difference in unsprung mass between those two brands. It wasn't a deciding factor for me, but the RPF1s are 1.7 lb/wheel lighter than the Kosei K1s, which is a nice bonus to have.
My setups will be:
15x8 +28 RPF1 w/ 225/45R15 R888R (front)
15x7 +38 Kosei K1 w/ 205/50R15 R888R (rear)
16x8 +35 TE37 Sonic w/ 225/45R16 (front)
16x8 +35 TE37 Sonic w/ 205/50R16 (rear)
Here are some photos of my new front wheels. The 15x8 +28 RPF1s weigh in at 11.3 lb per wheel. My Kosei K1s are 13 lb per wheel which makes for an unsprung-weight savings of 1.7 lb per corner. Although, this was not my real intention, it is a nice bonus to have. Enkei includes black valve stems, but I opted to use some blue Advan valve stems that were given to me by my friend, Steve.
Got my R888Rs mounted and balanced on the Enkei RPF1s & Kosei K1s. I also got my R888Rs mounted and balanced on my TE37 Sonics. I seriously can't get over how beautiful this color is. They're *almost* too nice to use.
Racing Green is such a slept on color, in person there is soo much depth to it. Definitely my second favorite color next to OG Bronze. Anxious to see pics of both setups on the car!

My ride height has always been off and I never bothered to adjust it since I was going to get new coilovers anyway. Really excited to actually dial it in this time, when I install the new coilovers. My biggest concern is going to be the 16x8 TE37s in the rear. I know that's on the aggressive side, so I'm curious how that'll pan out.
I see you're selling your wheels and coilovers, ditching the gd3 ?
Hey, we already spoke on Facebook, but as I mentioned, I just want to focus on other priorities. Still keeping the car and intend on adding some safety equipment (roll bar, harnesses, etc.) and have it as a seat-time car.
Swapped to a MOMO Monte Carlo 320 mm steering wheel. This wheel is definitely more thick than the previous MOD. 69 350 mm wheel I had on the car, which I am happy about. I also replaced the brake/clutch fluid with Endless RF-650, and removed my front sway bar. Looking forward to comparing the car with and without the front bar.
I know you haven't tracked it yet with the new mods but how do you like the change driving it around on the street thus far without the front sway bar ?

Hard to say since it wasn't just the front bar. I also swapped to a different tire compound, wider front wheels, and wider front tires, but I am liking it much more. A lot more available grip and no front bar maximizes your open diff's ability to put down power since the bar won't be lifting the inside wheel through turns since the wheels will work independent of each other.
I've been skeptical of the no-front-bar argument, but that sounds very appealing.
Ideally, you'd want higher front spring rates when you remove the front bar, but this'll have to do. I know it's not a perfect setup, but this car needs a lot of work before it reaches peak setup anyway. I'm not losing sleep over the small details and just want to go out with the car and have fun. Eventually, the setup will get dialed in, too. I hear having an LSD is a game-changer as well. I'll have actual first-hand info after my track day in April on the front bar removal.
Got my Element E50 mocked up and installed in the car. Here's some photos of that process:
Replaced another one of my engine mounts as well. Old one is pictured below and had definitely seen better days.
New engine mount.
I've also started removing all additional/unused wiring from my wiring harness. While it is weight reduction, the idea behind this, for me, is making it easier to diagnose any issues down the line. I'm not quite finished, but here's some progress photos of this process. Wiring harness will be cleaned up and rewrapped at the end of it all, of course.
New windshield installed. Old one was very peppered and difficult to see out of. New windshield glass is always such a nice thing to have.
Threw on a windshield banner as well. The Honda Fit's windshield is so huge that even with a banner, it looks like a normal-sized windshield.
SoW CCW track day on 4/2/22 with JMP Autowerkz. Unfortunately, car did not do so well. Clutch is on its last legs and the Toyo R888Rs were a disappointment compared to the previous Kumho V730s. However, this comes with the territory of experimenting and trying new things and I still had a blast. Fastest time of the day was a 1:36.5 (PB is 1:36.1 in this config). I found the R888Rs to be very inconsistent. I’m excited for the next tire I try out (probably V730 again or Nankang CR-S). The reverse stagger wheel/tire setup felt really nice though and the rotation was very noticeable compared to the square setup.
Completed windshield cowl is finally back on. Since purchasing the car in November of 2020, I was always missing the driver-side hood hinge cover. The cowl is finally back on with brand new clips and both hood hinge covers replaced. I also sourced some rubber plugs to cover the now-deleted windshield wiper holes. Sometimes, it’s the little victories in life…
Love the updated pic of the car on your first post! Looks absolutely perfect! Did you raise up the ride height as well?
How do you remove the passenger airbag cover? Mine has a gash that has been an eyesore since I bought the car, had no idea it could be removed and I would love to replace it.

Yeah, we raised the front of the car. Ride height was always really mismatched, so we raised it up a bit to match the rear better and have more clearance. Passenger air bag cover is removed by simply prying--it's just clipped in.
