There's THAT...

And how did the car drive? Or was the car more for show than drive?

I have 205/50/16 Conti DWS on 16x7 +43 Enkei wheels (also have Swift Springs). When the tires were new, the front would rub finder liner if I hit a bump while making a (hard) turn. Now that the tires have taken some 30k miles of wear (including 15 minutes on a track and 11k miles of my road trip, where there was plenty of tire squealing)... it doesn't rub anymore. Of course, if you look at where it rubbed, you can see the tires shaved off quite a few millimeters a the contact point (it was a corner, so now there's little hole clear through it). Oh, that rubbed corner... is about 1/4-1/2" from the fender itself.

This is the limit of rubbing I would accept.

You can always find somebody that did something but a 15X8 with a lower offset is going to rub.

supposedly it was a daily, but i don't know. i want to get something that's hecka flush. is it just that 8 is to wide and it would be possible with a thinner rim? or just that sport lines don't work because i can always run on pro.

We have a Fit Base 2010 and live in a city with VERY potholed roads. I think the wheels that came with the car are absurdly impractical. There is not enough rubber to absorb the shocks. (need two new tires now) I would like to increase the rubber to metal ratio. Are their alternate rims I can get for or Fit, with a smaller diameter (by maybe 2 inches? Then I would put on tires to match the new rims and the old outside circumference.

I believe you have 175/65x15 wheels if memory serves and I'm old so don't take it for gospel.
Based on our experience here 14" will fit but I'm not sure about 13". If you use 14" wheels tires size 185/70x14 will be close to the original diameter (24.2" vs 23.95") and will offer some added protection from a wider tire to spread the impact on the tires. They won't hurt mpg or acceleration too much but there will be a little decrease in both. Choosing the lightest 185/70x14 will help and 185/70x14 are so common that they're fairly cost effective. Use TireRack.com for the weight and true diameter date. And if there's really that much concern check the truck tires for really rugged heavyweight strength tires. They might be so HD that the wheels get bent first and thats not a joke.
If 13" wheels fit then 195/70x13 is a good tire choice and again very cost effective and certainly has truck service in that size too. If you want sidewall height divide the diameters by 3.14159, subtract the wheel diameter and divide by 2.
good luck.

I have a completely stock 2007 Fit Sport with the 15" rims. I am looking at getting winter tires that are size 205/60R15. I assume they would fit just fine, but figured I'd ask the Fit Freaks first Are these an ok fit? thanks!

They would be a little too tall and heavy for a 2007 model and would hurt your ability to accelerate.. a 195- 55- 15" all weather tread tire with an aggressive open tread should work fine where you live...

crap I should have changed my location. I live in Reno, NV now. It snows here, but not too much. I hear from locals that generally just a few inches, which melts shortly after. Just the somewhat rare blizzard. Only if I need to go to Tahoe do I need to get chains out, but those trips will be done in my STI with snow tires(lots of fun with AWD and snow tires!)

I will look at smaller tires. I just need to change brand now because the one I was looking at doesn't have this size. This cold weather is not playing well with the current summer tires we got while in Vegas.

Unfortunately, a tire 29.3" in diameter( 225/75x16) is not recommended because interfetence with fenders or liners is pretty much the result. The stock tire(185/55x16) is 24 inches.
Now if its 225/45x16 you'd probably be OK if you have stock offset wheels and not dropped.

Should you get a front-end alignment because you put new wheels on?

No.

Should you get your alignment checked by 70k miles if it's never had one?

Not a bad idea.

Hey guys, I've got a 2007 Base Fit, and a set of 15" wheels.

Last year I mounted 195/50R15 tires but I now I need a new set of tires.

The 195/55R15 size has way more choices available and it's cheaper.

So my question is : will 195/55R15 fit with my Fit?

Thanks!

You will have no problems... 195/55R/15s is what came stock on the 2007 Sport model Fits.... You will have a smoother ride, go further on a tank of fuel and cruise at a slightly lower RPM than you do on the tires that you are presently using...

I'm running buddy club p1s 16x7 +42 with 205/50/16s and everything seems to be working except there is some vibration even with hubcentric rings and balanced wheels. Any ideas?

Also, I just picked up drag dr-33s 17x7.5 +42 with 3 sets of Dunlop direzza 205/45/17 all with around 8/32 of tread. Can I buy a new fourth tire and use that with the other 3 used ones or would it cause problems?

Lastly, after the new wheels are balanced, can I switch between the 2 sets without having them re-balanced?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Buy two new tires and put them both in the front or back whichever you prefer. Safety people here will say put the new ones in the back to avoid oversteer situations.

Generally, you don't need to rebalance your wheels unless you dismount tires or the balance weights fall off.

Hello,

I am currently ordering Michelin Pilot Super Sports Tire,
which should come soon.
The reason for the long wait is because my wheel were not common size so it is not in stock, and I have to wait.

My size is 225/40-ZR18.

I notice nobody (at least from what I read so far) in this forum were using
Michelin Pilot Super Sports tire for Honda Fit.
but there must be someone here who had been using Michelin Pilot Super Sports tire,
and I would to hear the Honda Fit owner review on this tire.

Also did you know whether anybody successfully using 225/40-ZR18 without rubbing NOT lowered (wheel 18x7 et 42) ?

I do plan to lower the car later, but at this point I am not going to lower it yet, and wonder whether at stock height this will rub right away or not.

If I do lower the car later,
do you think I can get away just by using 2 SPC camber bolt per size resulting in 1.75 degree negative camber, (front wheel)
or I still need to pull/roll the fender even after the camber bolt?

and how about the rear of the car, can you predict whether
this tire/wheel combo fit right to the edge of the rear fender,
or do I still need spacer for the tightest fit?
If I still need spacer, how thick would it be, based from your experience?

Thank You.
