TIRE questions, sizes, mounting, pressures ANY tire questions
Has anyone run "reinforced" tires? What pressures do you use?
I run Toyo Proxes 4s, 205/45ZR16 87W reinforced. As far as I can understand, the "reinforced" tires can take more weight (my old ones were load-/speed-rated 83V) but have to be inflated about 5 psi more than normal. So basing from the doorjamb reading 32 psi front/30 psi rear, and the +5 psi rule, I should be running 37 psi front/35 psi rear.
Anyone else on reinforced tires? Would like to see if we run similar pressures. Ride quality suffers a little due to the higher air pressure in my rubber.

I am not sure that I can get you better ride quality. I can get you better handling and longer tread life. I would look at going with a 205/50R16 in the size. It is going to be a little wider and the same height.

What tire can you recommend for me in 205/50R16? Looking for the perfect balance of price, performance and treadwear. Comfort isnt a deal breaker for me. Price will be though. Sorry I know its a pretty vague question.
However 205/50-16 will be a little tall at 24.1" tire diameter but still work with the stock suspension. 50 series sidewall will allow for a little more comfort.
For good price, decent performance, and longer treadwear-
General Exclaim UHP $78 each, 380 treadwear
Fusion ZRi $82 each, 320 treadwear
Kumho Ecsta SPT $80 each, 320 treadwear
Yokohama S.Drive $91 each, 300 treadwear
Normally we look at 204/45-16 as the size for the FIT.

I was referring to stock tire size on 2007-2008 Fit Sport

Stock tire diameter 23.4". 195/55-15
For 2009 Fit Sport
16" wheels and 185/55-16 tires 24.2" tire diameter

In the 205/50R16 if you are looking for longer tread life I would go with an all season tire. You will loose some performance to gain the tread life. I would take a look at the Goodyear GT at 89.00 each. If you stay with a longer wearing performance tire I would look at the General Exclaim UHP at 78.00 each.

Ill be ordering them in about 2 weeks but ill put your name down, thanks.
This is probably a really dumb question for all of you that know this stuff. Would there be an reason or advantage for me to go to a 15" wheel instead of my stock 16's? This is my daily commuter car. I will never hit a track. Is there a reason that one size 15, 16 or even 17 is better than another?
