what I run

I think it really depends if you drop the GE or not. I am running 215/35r18 ET 42 with no rubbing. I also had run 195/60r15 ET 40 with no rubbing. Note that I was on stock suspension. Also with both setups I had over 400lbs in the car and it did not rub. I want to mention that I read somewhere in this forum that someone was running 205/55r16 on the stock sport wheels. I was thinking of running 205/50 on the stock wheels with winter tires.

On the OE wheels the 205/50R16 will fit. You do need to be careful with the offsets on this car. The higher the better so around 45mm if good.
If I can help with the tires let me know.

OK. Thanks, runbikerun, IIEZ, Jim. Nice to know that 205/50-16 will work on the stock wheels. I should have mentioned, btw, that I plan to leave the car stock otherwise. Just want better tires.

Apparently the problem is more on the outside, the fender side, than the inside?

We do not show any issues with the factory wheels and the 2105/50R16.

Cool. One more question. Since 205/50-16 on stock wheels works, I assume that 195/55-16 would also work: the specs of (for example) the Potenza G019 show it being only .1" larger radius than the OEMs and not as wide as the 205s.

They would be .4" taller than the 185/55R16 so I can't be sure but there are guys running the 195/60R15 so they might work.

I just installed bridgestone potenza 205/50/16 on a jazz 2009 and it works perfect. Braking and the grip in corners is much better. The roads in Jordan, Middle East are great for testing a tire!

I just had my BFG 185/65R/15 put on. Can anyone tell me how much my speedo will be off if any?

Oh why did they put those green valve caps on? I must get center caps or cheap hub caps.

Wow quite the dif in the ride. Much softer.

Pics later

The height on the tire is .6" taller than stock. Maybe a mile or 2 at 55 mph would be all. That is of course if it is correct to begin with.

generally green valve caps mean they put Nitrogen in the tires.

Thanks Jim

I learnt something today. Green is Nitro. Will I go faster? Thanks awptickese

Pics just added. Talk about clashing. Green, blue, silver and black and a bit of rust in center. I may look for some cheap hub caps.

The 16X7 witht he 40mm offset could cause some rubbing. You really need higher than a 45mm offset. You could roll the fender lips to give yourself more room.
If I can help let me know.

I think my 205 15s on et42 (enkei rpf1) rub on big bumps ... that wasn't supposed to happen I thought. I think it's in the back from the sound of it. It has to be a damn big bump, it's rare.

We have a note that list anything less than a 45mm offset wheel may rub. You can try running a little more negative camber.

Hi, I'm from Australia SYD.

I've just purchased the GD3 '04 VTI-S, the size of the tires on the car are 185/55 15 on the stock rims. I just want to know is this the stock tyre size for the stock car? I need to replace these tires soon but i want to see my opinion on sizes.
