Big a$$ tires, my first fitment
Just fitted 195/65/r15 on my 15" white slipstreams. No rubbing ...yet
Discount tire killed one of my studs, ate up my Saturday off at the mechanic...
But I'm rocking the slipstreams! Pics incoming

I need new tires and what something meaty. How would a 205/50/17 or 215/45/17 go?
I have a GE8 with buddy club coilovers and Enkei NT03 17x7 +40 wheels. Currently running 205/45 tires. Again i want a little meatier sidewall mainly.

First post and doing a bit of pre-research before going to buy a Fit. Looking at mounting 16x7 +38 Enkei Compe, but am concerned about REAR rubbing when carrying passengers. I'll be installing RS-R Superdown springs (0.5"F/0.8"R). I did notice the common size people run is 205/50/16, but 195/50/16 would be a nearly identical diameter to OEM 185/60/15, and I'd give up filling out the wheelwell and tread width in exchange for extra clearance.
Any advice, or should I just 205/50?

Winter rims and tire help
Newbie here, picking up a 2016 LX this week to replace my 12-year old Elantra. 2 questions:
1. I'm looking to use my Elantra's winter tires that have lots of tread left. They are 195/60R15. From what I've read I think they should work just fine. Is that correct?
2. I'm looking for some used rims to put these on. I have a lead on a set from a civic with these specs:
5.5Jx15 ET45
4x100
CB 56.1
Only difference from the 2016 15 inch wheel specs I've read for the Fit LX is the ET is 51, not 45 as with these rims. Will these work OK? (5mm seems pretty small to me, but I'm not sure).
Cheers!

I live on Vancouver island, West coast, lots of rain. Just got 2008 fit lx and need all season tires good for rain, no noise and good cornering as everywhere is very windy sharp roads. Tire size 175 65R14 and I don't care how much they cost I would like the best. Can someone please tell me what my options are?? Thank you kindly in advance, going crazy over this.

That all being said, they sure are cheap with the sale price! Maybe worth trying as long as you get them mounted at Walmart and can return if you have vibration issues?

Thanks for the quick reply!
I ask as I've never cheaped out that hard on a set of tires...but jeez, for $46 each it sure is tempting, and my stock Dunlops are just about on their last legs.
I've read a bunch of threads on the 205/50/16 size, and everyone seems pretty happy with it...no issues there?

I can tell you that Tire Rack recommends the size change and my good friend and Mom are still alive after making the change. My Mom's car feels more stable with the wider tires to me. They have a couple hundred thousand miles on the 205's between the two of them.

Just bought a set of 16"x6.5 offset 55 HFP rims, looking for best tire size!
Hey all, as the subject above says, looking for the best tire size. I have a few anomalies:
1 lowered 1.5" front, 1" in back with Swift springs
2 at times I carry roughly 100-120lbs of weight while working. This is my Daily driver :-)
3 Worried about rubbing!
I currently am using the OEM 15" sport alloys that came with the car. Winter Michelin tires are on them, in which I will use only within winter months..
The tire rack says that the OEM size re 16" is 205/45/16. I'm looking to have a nicer profile tire and hopefully fill the wheel well Gap. Would there be a better tire I could use or would this or size be best?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and tips !

You should be good as far as clearance goes. The HFP wheels are designed to be factory replacements.
205/45-16 is extremely close to the stock overall diameter which makes them an excellent choice. They will not, however, fill the wheel gap any better than your original combo.
I have considered trying 205/50-16's for the same reason you mention as well as a slightly softer ride. The 45's don't have much sidewall. Not sure how well they would fit though.

Per Discount Tire Direct:
"Rim Width Range = 5.0-7.0"
https://www.discounttiredirect.com/b...es-a27/p/36207
So any 16x5, 16x6, 16x7 should be able to fit 185/60/16 tires
This guy was able to fit 205/50/16:

I'm in the UK and have a 2004 1.4 Fit, and want to upgrade the 14 inch steel wheels to 15 inch
I want to run 195/55 R15, and whilst I know I can just about get these on a 5.5J rim, I wanted to go for the 6J rim from a 2001 Civic so the sizewalls sit better on it.
I found these for sale new and just wanted some opinions to see if they will fit my car:

I'd really appreciate any advice you can give!
All the best
Steve

If you stumble on someone selling 15" OEM Honda Fit or Civic takeoff alloy wheels, that would be your best bet. They will definitely fit also, but would be a bit lighter than the steel wheels.

Yup, 195/55's on those 15x6 +45ET wheels will work perfect. My only word of caution is that you will be adding a bit of weight which will take away a bit of the light feeling. It would be worth it to me though to go to the shorter sidewall and wider tires. Should work well.

I looked through the alloy wheels section on here, and then went shopping lol ... not bought them yet, but I think I'm going for Rota Slipstream (due to weight) in matt black (the car is also black) 15 x 7 with ET40, and put 195/55 R15's on them (continental premium contact 5 as I live near Manchester so it rains a hell of a lot! lol). Once on I'm going to check the gaps, and then maybe fit Eibach springs and drop it 30mm all round ... I often have a carfull and don't want any rubbing Wheels are £550 for 4 in the UK, tyres £65 a corner.
Thanks once again for your help!!! x

205mm is a much more standard width for a 7" wide wheel and looks much better IMO.
As for the fitment, 16x7 at et40 will work, but you may have slight rubbing in the rear on larger dips in the road or if lowered. The rubbing would be miner and can be fixed with some tweaking.
Edited to add...here's a great Site for checking any wheel/tire combination vs factory. https://www.willtheyfit.com/ You will see that a 16x7 +40 will be quite a bit out more than the factory wheels.
