Rogue Carbon Cowl Scoop and Cowl Cover interest
#464
That's what I was wondering also. I just checked my GE and don't see how it would mount. The cowl is different. Looks like you would have to cut into it.

I've sent some PM's so hope most of the questions have been answered.
I am still making both styles of GD3 scoops and have one carbon and two with orange carbon kevlar top pieces in stock right now, and will be making more soon. The carbon scoop is $100 and $80 for one painted black.
The GE8 scoop lost momentum since we were having a hard time coming up with a design that was pleasing to most. I personally liked the final design and would still like to see it through. I've been contacted by a GE owner that lives fairly close, so we may still be able to accomplish this.

Just PM me when you're ready to move forward Jim and we can schedule to meet. I also have a few other ideas that you may have some interest in, which I'm sure the Fit Freak membership would appreciate. Thanks.

GE scoops
OK GE guys, After consultations with Jim at Rouge Fit he expressed to me that he would be willing to take up where you guys left off on the scoop mock-ups.
>
BeanGrower, Jim mentioned that you have a prototype, can you post a pic or two so that everybody could possibly see it and give/express some input as to which direction to proceed in. Tauwolf, he said he's willing to work with you and everyone else and get any ideas/suggestions that you may have.
>
XJPS, I think you are the one he referred to that lived in AZ and was willing to use your ryde for some mock-ups. Jim said to give him an approximately a week or two to get caught up on these GD scoops and he will be available for test fitting. I guess you can PM him and you guys can arrange that.
>
For all you guys that have been trying so hard to make contact with Jim via PM'S emails or however, He wanted me to let you know that he was just to "busy" and got overloaded with his work and that he is willing to move forward now that the interest in the GE scoop is there and elevating again.
>
Hope we can get the ball rollin' again

I'm doing a happy dance
I remember that his last design was getting pretty close to something that I'd want. Now, from bean's post about it "moving around" at speed, it sounds like there may be some fitment issues, so obviously that would need to be addressed.
Bean, how well do you feel that design actually improves the air intake? Does it do the job it's meant to do or is it more smply for looks in it's current form?

here's some old pics. needs to be a little shorter so it can sit flush w/ the cowl. it moves on the highway cuz there are no tabs that mount to the cowl...prototype/unfinished version. Im sure once the final product comes out, it'll be a perfect FIT.

Sup BG, If I had a GE I probably would not change anything on that cowl, I think it's great as is..
If I were to possibly alter the prototype it would be to make the left side of it more uniform with the other side, in other words it would not be just suddenly rounded on one end, but a gradual slope like the right side of the scoop.
I did a couple 5min. sketches of this idea. Sorry for the notebook paper but that's all I had while waiting in the doctors ofc for my daughter
Anywho....
Come on GE member's now is the time to start laying out ideas that you may want incorporated into the new scoop design..... It will make it a lot easier for Rogue to complete a piece that will be satisfactory for all of the GE members.
