No remote gas door release. This is my 4th Honda and this is the first time I've ever seen a finger flip gas door on one.

TPMS, will eventually remove the bulb.

And finally, I don't like the green illuminated switches on the driver door when everything else is blue. I'll probably change the bulbs/leds.
I got the dead pedal from Zeta and believe me, you will enjoy it!

As for the other stuff, I have no qualms about them.

Mystified about why you don't like the TPMS light, though. It came on for me (the TPMS, not the tire w/exclaimation point) the first night I got the car, but I found the next day it came on because of one tire being overinflated by 10 psi. I bled the air until it was 32psi and after running the car for several minutes, the light went off. I do good!

Where do you order the JDM center from?

lets see
1. the doors dont auto lock when driving. its not that bad, my 98 civic had that.
2. no dead pedal, that can be easily fixed.
3. the bumpy ass ride i get when i drive, when i got a new care i thought it was gonna be a way smoother ride than my 98 honda civic was. well i was so wrong cuz the fit is as bad as my old civic.

anyone know if i can get a smoother ride? i was thinking maybe id have to get like new springs but i dont know much about cars.

It hasn't gone on for me yet, I've only owned the car for a week. I have a set of 16" SSR Integrals that I've had laying around in the garage that I want to put on. I don't want to see the light on and would rather not have it at all. I guess, I'm one of those people that really take a proactive approach to maintenance and good car care. I have no need for TPMS.

Here are some things that I think the Fit lacks or I just dont like:
dead pedal
armrest
beeping seatbelt alarm
intermittent wipers
items that dont come standard (mats, etc.)
no map light
no mirror on pass side visor
seat material
6th gear
paint (prone to rock chips, etc.)
Other than that, I LOVE MY GD3!

IDK if most of you guys are comming from other cars, but everything you dont like, has been "honda" since 73, Honda never has multi intermintant settings on there wipers, or any settings on the rear wipers, Hondas never had arm rests, and they also dont have DRL. Im not saying its kool, it sucks, but its just the way honda works.
What?? I have had nothing but Hondas from 1980 on. Higher end Hondas absolutly have multi-intermittiant wipers, and arm rests. Check out Honda web site looking at Ex Civics, Accords, etc..etc..etc..

After hearing more and more about gas theft I'm starting to think it's pretty lame that the gas lid doesn't lock and open from the inside with a latch like my mother's 01 Civic. How much more effort and money really would it have taken them to add that feature, especially on the sport model.

Anyone know about aftermarket locking gas caps? Do they interfere with the gas cap loose light that I have heard about?

1. Lack of rear knee room
2. Engine displacement (torque) too small; needs the 1700 cc Civic HX 1700 cc engine (not a hybrid but gets 40+ mpg in the 04 model) to overcome the auto trans hobbyhorsing in hilly country.

I typically check my tires every once in a while, but it's a good thing it is there. I'm glad it did something when one tire was overinflated. It should also be good if you're driving around and something is wrong, before it's completely flat.

I read in another thread that it is hard to siphon gas from a Fit. Maybe it has to do with the location of the tank.

Yes it is the tube goes down from the spout to the bottom in the FIT make another 90 degree turn runs from the rear drivers side to the front passengers side then up into the gas tank.

Ah, true! I had forgotten about the odd gas tank placement although I can hear the gas sloshing beneath my feet when it's quiet out. That indeed will make siphoning impossible so that is probably why they didn't bother with the locking gas door. Thanks guys

Fit Issues ?

If you really worried about gas mileage, why drive your Fit in the S mode? Keep it in D and watch how you drive?

My wife hates the passenger seat in my Fit. I wish the seats were a bit more comfortable and had a bit more adjustment. I added a Zeta dead pedal even though I had an auto transmission (too old to shift gears in Houston traffic), but I needed a place for my left foot.

All in all the Honda Fit is one of the #1 cars in the world and people who drive them are smarter and ahead of the crowd.

it's about 6months now since ownership and i still don't like the 2 items
that i posted months ago...

1. tach not being in the center of the cluster.
2. no ambient temp gauge.

otherwise it's a great package.

Only thing that I don't like is that it's a little darty on the highway and wanders a bit. It's a small price to pay for the scalpel like steering precision though IMO.

The ride is a little stiff, but I would rather have the rigid ride and sharp handling. If I wanted a spongey ride and mush handling I would have gone with a Toyota.

even on gas doors without the finger pop thing, it only takes a screwdriver to get it open

3) JDM. I really think the fit was better off if it was built here. It'd be cheaper, more people would own it, and definitely more options/trims. I'd love leather seat options for my fit. Same with nav system (altho the radio is very impressive). a frikin MOONROOF. XM radio. a 1.3i-dsi option.
the main selling point for me was that it was built i japan. the quality is so much higher than ANYTHING made in north america, plus the cost would be higher as production costs are higher say thanks to the unions
