What you DONT like about your Fit
1. i wish it had a lock/unlock control on the passenger side,, haha cause my friends always look at me like "umm hello unlock the door" haha.
2. i wish it had the gas tank that you have to pop to open. or atleast a lock on the cap. =/ owell
thats pretty much it.

i think this would cause a safety don't you think? windows automatically goes up, what if there is a child sticking his head out and accidentally push the button lol.

Theres not much to dislike about the fit... most of the downsides people should expect when buying the car (example: lack of power). All in all... I love this car
Might have seen you yesterday - You a VPB?
(I'm a Blue myself)As far as my stuff - The dealer had to order a new fog lamp assembly - sid teh bracket was actually broken (inside). no worries, they will take care of it as 'guest services' (I guess they don't want to flag it as a warranty issue?)
The paint sealant looks / feels really nice - hoping it'll help with the chips. Just over 600 miles now...
Nice to see some local VA/MD/DC people here. I'm from Gaithersburg, MD.
I just received my OEM rubber floormats and console cover yesterday and should be receiving my locking gas cap today (all from bernardiparts.com).
I'm still undecided about the armrest... I either keep my right hand on the steering wheel or I lay it against the side of the passenger seat (I like being able to stretch my right arm out assuming no front seat passenger is sitting there).
For those of you that got an armrest (JDM, eBay, zetaproducts), do you find that you have less arm room and feel more cramped? Is it too high that you bump your elbows into it?
Funny thing is that my BMW originally came with no armrest either (my car came only with the sport package which did not include an armrest of all things... wound up retrofitting an OEM armrest into my BMW though).

Hello all, after owning my Fit for almost 10 months and driving it over 30k miles already, I am ready to narrow down the biggest faults of this car into 3 specific things:
1) Lack of an intermittent setting for the rear wiper. Yes, this really is a pain the ass. The problem is when you're driving on wet roads in heavy rain, especially on the highway, you need to keep turning the switch and you can't leave it set on, because it goes unneccesarily fast. I don't understand why Honda did this - if they weren't going to give us an intermittent setting, fine, but they should have made the 1 single speed it does go much slower, so one could leave it on. You will most likely NEVER experience rain so heavy that you need to leave it on the entire time, and afterall, this is the rear window we're talking about.
2)The seat belt chime for the driver AND for the passenger. Seriously guys how ANNOYING is it when you have a passenger in your Fit and they are the type of person who won't wear a seatbelt? Especially if they are a very large person and you would feel uncomfortable asking to do so. The funny part about this? After about 4 or 5 cycles of that horrific, nightmare inducing, skin crawling, teeth grinding seat belt reminder chime, they'll say to you "why won't your car STFU?"
3)Surge and Hesitation when the engine is cold. This is more of an annoyance than a problem, but I've found that my Fit surges and hesitates a bit for the first few gear shifts when the engine has been recently started up.
All in all, these are minor issues. We should be thankful I didn't write "leaking oil" or "exhaust fell off" or something. But hell, there's a REASON the Fit was named one of the Top 10 cars.

the threads about people removing their rear wiper surprised me. my rear window gets ridiculously dirty and messy. i couldn't imagine not having the wiper there.
For the 3rd complaint, i think you should let your car warm up longer.
In the morning before i leave for school i sit in the car for 5-10mins and listen to music and let the thing warm up a bit. This is really important in cold weather. Letting your car warm up is one of the main keys to having a long lasting engine.

Same here, I would never remove it, I use it all the time in the rain, it's just a pain to keep turning the switch.
My Complaints:
1) coming from the world of performance diesels, Turbo GM vehicles, and big V8s... I find this car excessively slow... I WANT A 3 or 4 CYL TURBO DIESEL!! C'mon honda, realize that we here in America drive torque! This car does 0-60 about as fast as my VW Golf TDI goes in the 1/4 mile.
2) Rear Wiper... you all know what I mean
3) Cruise wasn't an option on the base model
4) No center arm rest
5) No subwoofer option
6) the cargo cover is an option, should have been standard, or NOT $170.
7) maybe a MPG gauge... anyone have a scantool that will display instant / average MPG?

The 5 speed Fit has been tested in the mid 8's for 0-60. That must've been a pretty fast TDI you had, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if it was slower in the 0-60. All the VW guys seem to think because they have gobs of torque that they can feel, the car is actually going somewhere. My friend is a die-hard VW fan, and I lined up my Fit with I/H/E and his '08 Rabbit with CAI and cat-back, and we were neck and neck until the end of 3rd gear.
My Complaints:
1) No intermittent wiper - I agree with this one. I've seemed to grown to understand that I have to change my windshield wiping pattern. My 1986 Honda Accord even had that feature. Odd!
2) No sun visor on the front windshield - Usually, they put a built in tint to the top of the windshield to help block the sun. I never knew how helpful this was before now.
3) Backing up - For some reason, I haven't gotten the hang of backing this car up. I use to be really really good at backing up a car but I just can't do it as well in my Fit (so far).
4) Not getting all the JDM stuff as stock - Why the hell don't we get map lights, roof console, coin tray (installed), red hazard switch (installed), passenger side visor mirror (ordered), side blinkers; not sure if they are stock in japan. But, you get my drift.
Overall though, I have 2 loves in my life now. My Fiancee and my Fit.

My automatic fit sport (in sport mode) is about 11 seconds 0-60 where we live. if I keep it in D, it's in the 12s, but closer to the 13 second range. so my estimation is about right... it keeps me out of trouble.
Granted this car has alot less interior functions then my MKV GTI had. But this car is a lower class so I come to expect that. I would have figured floor mats would have been standard and at least a dead pedal. I have only owned the car since Saturday so I really haven't found anything big. I am still happy with my purchase.
