Track day was cancelled and so came home with 3 large shelves.
Ofcourse the kids were at grandma's but the Fit took the cargo like a champ with wife seated comfortably.
So tonight I need to put them together... Tomorrow hope to motor my Z.

Finished putting together the furniture. Was pretty quick vs the bunk bed wife and I did last week.
Gotz my new GT-R red push start button.
Z's come with a white button that illuminates amber.

Motored my Z this am and had a good time.
Touched up my GE's rear bumper. Looks like someone tapped th bumper in a parking lot. Small indents and missing paint.
shit happens with dd's... That's why these are dd's.

im still putting dabs of touchup on the Z's wheel every 12hrs where it got gauged during the last tire patching repair.
not sure how many coats ive put on but probably need another 2-3 until i can get it convex. then dry 2wks and will sand it down using my 3000grit sanding block, then polish.
should be undetectable after that.
also checked out some potential mesh wheels i might get for her down the road.
a lot of volks and BBS i was looking at all had aggressive offsets where i would need to lower the car to make it look right. i dont want to mess with the Z's suspension because it takes quite a bit of aligment and adjustment to get it right... i talk from experience doing my G's suspension 6yrs ago.
the alignment alone was $120 a pop and had to do like 5-6 times to get it to where i was finally happy. lol both the G and Z share similar suspension geometry. the only suspension mod i would consider is KW V3's and lower no more than 0.25" if not less.
i found this new TSW Nur wheel using the same forging process as forgestar wheels.
they are light weight (22-23lbs range in 19x9/19x10 sizes) and offset is not aggressive so i can play around with my spacers as needed. might do those.
in comparison, my SSR Werfen/GT03 3pc wheels on my G are 25-26lbs which is still considered light weight for this type of construction.
feels kinda werd though since TSW use to have this chunky HEAVY wheel image and for euro-sausage cars only.
times have changed and i think they want to compete against the japanese wheel makers.

so im going to give another try on the Z's intake this time using a more custom setup where the dry cone filter is closed off to the inlet openings on the factory intake. basically the heatsheild is thicker, more seals used around all the non-flat opening to seal off as much hot air from the engine. also the inlet tube between the MAF to throttle body is much larger.
when installed correctly people were getting only 5-10F higher than ambient temp on the IAT (with their setup) so this is comparable to the long tube CAI's, but imho looks and sounds better.
the main purpose is to improve throttle response especially at lower/mid RPM and pull in as much air at 5K+. seems like the car can use a tad more free air at times.
hoping to get some of the bits in this week and install before the weekend.

I just did the oil change in june or something and my GD is already at 40% oil life left. I may have to do one before winter. Too much high revs probably.
To me one month goes by in what feels like a week so I can't believe its already been like 3months and summer is already over.

here's wat i like about the GD:
- sporty nature of it, especially with MT it is fun to drive (on a cool day
)here's wat i like about the GE:
- apparance, overall features like telescoping steering wheel, cup holder locations, pretty much the basic convenience things are in the car where as on the GD you had to mod or add them later on.
i think you'll like the GE. the only thing i hate about it is the AT (since it's for the wife mainly) and the suspension. but if you can find a MT and get some coilovers i think you're set.

Motored the Z this am and cleanered her up after the drive, changed the oil on my GE, recycled the oil and coolant to my local recycle center.
Going to take it easy the remainder of the pm.

need to do a Fall detail before winter pretty soon on the dd's. im not going to spend too much time on my GD but on the GE im going to clay to remove all the contaiminats off and give her a nice coat of Griot's Paint Sealant.
also going to clean the engine bay and put a light coat of oil on the metal bits cause a lot is starting to corrode already...
these winters with road salt is harsh on our cars.

did some calculations today wat my budget will look like for my next dd if i sold the FitS next spring. with everything considered, i found that it will only benefit me about 2500 tops in 2014 when i trade the G in for the next car... im looking at something in the $40K range. my Z will remain as my hobby car.
so it looks like it makes no economic sense to sell the car early. with this info i think i might just keep the FitS for another 3-4yrs... lol

my stupid neighbor down the street almost crashed into my FitS again this morning while backing out of his driveway, 2nd time in 3 days. lol
i gave a breif honk to let him know i was approaching, he looks around doesn't see me and continues to back out. by that time i slam on my brakes and staring at him from an angle he finally sees me and looks at me like WTH are you doing? lol why are these old farts in leased pos 3-series base models such losers?
cause they are, i guess. need to kick him out of the neighborhood.

the storm kinda split right over my house so nearby towns was hit pretty hard but over my house it was like just a regular no-big-deal thunderstorm... enough rain to make my car dirty but not clean.
hahaha. oh well.
so this am on my way to work i was minding my own business driving my GD as i usually do, pretty quick. this stupid kid in a RSX-S must have thought i was racing him because i quickly accelerated off the line to pass a donky hundai suv that was slowing down traffic and him with little 4banger at WOT nearly got wasted by my FitS and did a ricor flyby way over the speed limit. lol...i was like wtf are you doing, son? im not racing you.
so i backed off my throttle immediately to reconfirm that i wasnt racing him and spaced a good 50-75ft or so so that the kid can regain his confidence.
then a few min later he found another prey (a pos beatup cavalier with yet another kid driving) and they were going at it in front of us. wat pissed me off the most was that their slow cars were weaving in/out of traffic going WOT frequently so i had to smell their exhaust fumes pretty much the last 10min of my trip to work.
not only that, i had to really back off to convince the world that my modded GD had NOTHING to do with them racing. my car gets easily mistaken for a "ricor honduh"...when near those ricor rockets and i hate it.
kids, you are endangering other people that have no business. slow down, get your penis points from doing good at work or helping out the community, not racing your slow puttputt mobiles during rush hour. i should put a camera in my car to capture these dumbarses and email the clip to the local police department.

I'm thinking of going to drive a GE for the hell of it and see what I think.
