I'm not sure how they would look or be affected by DRLs but I could get a picture for you if you would like to see them Ken.

thanks, hootie.

yah, i used intense whites on my earlier car and they only lasted me like 3-4months before it lost luminance and then burned out 5-6months later. not sure if piaa improved in the recent years. the reviews on amazon also state about 7-12months life so that appears to be average.

hummmm... but i dont want to be spending $50 every 7-8 months. i better think this over.

I have Philips Night Vision IIRC on my Rex. Probably not your type (yellowish/white/blue) but I like them.

how do you get 3 different hues out of one bulb? does it have a lens of some sort?

that's pretty cool.

i think im just going to leave mine stock for now. i looked at all sorts of bulbs that are supposedly whiter... they all seem to die within a year's time. with DRL running all the time, not sure 8-9months life tops?

and the led lamps... i looked at those too. they frikken look like pepboys/autozone lamps when placed on the bumper.

IDK how long the bulbs will last but just an FYI, the DRL uses the high beam filament. When you turn on the light, it then uses the low beam filament.

yah, that's correct on how the H4's and DRL's work. the only time i need DRL to work in my case is on a drizzly/light rain day where it's still light out. where i am, law does not require DRL.

i suppose another way to go about this is to bridge a push-switch for the DRL...which means most of the time DRL is off... i dont mind my headlights not being that white-hue color of aftermarket bulbs. hummmmm...

anyone know where i can buy an oem push-switch that fits the blanks next to the VCA?

Honda wholesale direct has some vca replacement switches. Maybe that'll work.

I'm sad to hear about the short life of the PIAA intense whites. I just picked up a pair. I was looking at the sylvania orsams as well.

What brakes do you prefer? Hawk and thermoquiets have been recommended to me, and Cenric plain 120 series kept popping up in my searches

I have no idea about the VCA, I figured it was the same size, so it should fit. Actual operation is beyond me...

i found a pretty decent looking rocker with blue LED, so going with that. will wire it up this weekend and post up picts.

so the goal is, no DRL when sunny, DRL when drizzy (no dim on HU display), and headlights on stormy day (dim on HU display is okay since it's dark anyway).

also ordered up a new 120v tire air compressor. mine's been running well the last 4-5yrs, but given the age and how often i use it, i bought a backup just in case.

if you guys are interested (and have amazon prime), griot's speedshine gallon is back for $29.99 + free 2 day shipping.

that's quite a savings compared to $30.99 + shipping if you would've bought from griotsgarage.com

got a sunny weekend coming up! going to wire up that switch i got for my drl (on/off), and wash the fits.

i heard my wife got tapped at an intersection with the 09. she said the only damage she could see was some scratches from certain angles. meh. who cares. i know the car had a couple of scratches on the bumper from before while parked at the stores.

at least its white. hard to tell any scratch during the day.

im going to start checking out the new accord sedans. i think im going to get that next to replace the 09 next yr.

Hold on there Ken... I thought you weren't a fan of the Accord?

Edit: Also just a heads up notice since I know your newer GE is a Sport with VSA. There will be a program update/recall on them soon. I just got notice of it at work yesterday and was going to do it on a GE we had in stock but needed to update our computers. Letters should be sent sometime next month.

hahaha the new accord sedan is cool. i like it cause it has simple lines and none of that bimmer-wannabie hyundai wavy lines.

i checked the damage on my 09's rear bumper...and its really nothing. i mean it's barely a scratch that adds to the other previous plate frame scratch on the car from someone bumping it while parked. i dont care.

thanks for the headsup on the update on the vsa for my '12. is it a program that allows drivers to turn it off without TPMS? if so, if not, im not going to bother taking it in.

That would be a Accord Sport there.... Only comes as a 4 cylinder though. :/

As for what features are changed with the VSA update, I'm not sure. I couldn't update the Fit yesterday due to one computer's OBDII device had a corrupt update file and needed it reinstalled and the other out of date and was downloading the file at the end of the day.

So I wouldn't know exactly what would happen for updated Fits without TP sensors. Been trying to convince the service manager to let me test fit the '12/'13 wheels on my '08... Testing this out could give me a more legitimate excuse to snag the GE8 off the lot and into my bay. ^.^

but i want a 4banger... my wife doesnt care to drive like racecar... and would prefer to save fuel. i heard the '14 will have a hybrid variant. depending on how much travel she is planning to do, i might consider that option too. chances are though, the gasoline 4banger will make more sense.

lol@ snag GE8 into your bay.

i need to make me a fuse jumper thingie... kinda like the add-a-circuit but i need both poles to wire the DRL switch. hummm... not sure if i have small pins.

I really like the new Accord, and I never thought I would type those words together, ever.
