woot, got the keycard just before i left work so checked out the new parking structure on the way home.. unfortunately the gate didnt open yet as im not allowed to enter the premise until next week but from wat i could see the parking was relatively flat. but i couldnt see how wide the spacers were.

will find out next week. so i can scratch the NX off for now. one step closer to Golf-R #2

so i've been watching the weather forecast to see when i need to add more air into the GK and GTI's tires. last time i cked was last weekend at 34F and forecast shows temps dropping to single digits at night by next week. id want to add 2.5psi on this case. but that trend has been fluctuating to not drop so much so i don't want to jump the gun and pressure it up on the high side too soon.

yet there is snow in the forecast so don't want to wait too long either..

alright on the menu today.. first heading out to my hair stylist in my GTI to get my hair cut.. then heading out for a nice relaxing drive in my R.

not much else to do today, going to listen to music probably all pm and maybe look at a couple of bits to try on my R down the road.

have a good saturday everyone!

so i compared the audio quality of the various bt headphones i have. this is the order of audio quality.

Sony MDR1000x (high clarity and definition, plenty of bass)
AKG N60NC wireless (brighter side, nice definition, clean punchy bass)
Bose QC35 (clarity is there but not hifi as the Sony nor AKG, somewhat bassy)
Bose Soundlink2 bt headphones (less clarity, more bass centric)
Sony 950 (mostly just bass)

should have my sony wh1000's in a few days. i think im going to return the bose
soundlink 2's and use the mdr1000's at the office. even though the bose is not
noise cancelling, i still cant hear people when they're calling me. my boss had to
wave his hand to get my attention so this is not good.. plus taking off the headphone
is a pita just for responding to a quick question. with the sony's i just cup my right
hand over the earpiece and it will automatically lower the audio and hear surroundings.

'ken-san do you want cake?'

OFCOURSE I WANT CAKE! .. almost missed out on cake due to Bose. not good.

should still try the sennheisers too..maybe they'll be coming out with a newer version next year. should wait till then.
CES is right around the corner..

the sony MDR1000X's set the bar so high.. cant wait to try the WH1000's..

mike i can totally understand your tv setup. i'm actually using an old thinkpad in my music room with a tuner so that i too can surf the net while watching tv. and not about to buy a new pc just for watching tv!

yah my short term is GolfR MT, GolfR DSG, STI, and GK. my wife doesn't want the GTI so..

got my hair cut, motored my R this am. had a great time. my kid tagged along and was watching me how to shift and how i was down shifting heel & toe. more like ball of foot and side of foot since mild braking. also heel and toe hill start etc.

he was facinated how i control the pedals without me thinking. lol

i fell asleep a good hour or so listening to some nice smooth tunes through my AKG.

$100 to subscribe to spotify per year with the current 0.99 for 3 months deal. still on the fence. i guess the part i dont like is if i unsubscribe later, i loose the ability to listen to tunes off line cause im just borrowing them. the only reason to pay is to prevent ads from messing up the mood.. hummmm...

time to grab some icecream to think this over..

hummmm... looks like light snow tomorrow am. i might need to skip the drive in the R and just clean her up. not a big deal, im sure ill have plenty of dry days to enjoy the car this winter.

and considering how the temps are going to dip starting tomorrow night i better move the detailing gear liquids inside tonight. going to work on it now. thing with these detailing gear is most polymers can handle the colder temps but the natural wax based ones usually will separate once frozen.

had a busy am.. motored my R, but around mid drive it started snowing. got some gas on the way home as i wasnt sure when i will be able to take her out for a drive on a dry day again... want to keep the fuel fresh and fuel level sensors submerged.

cleaned her up real nice and while inside the garage the temp was 39F i noticed down low my QD was borderline freezing so used my heat gun to warm up the panels before going further. i have IR heaters but too big to move around in the garage.

decided to buy a tiny space heater to use in the garage. thing is like a hairdrier size, perfect for tight space. should have in my hands next week to try it out.

then dyson'ed the first floor in my house real good.. kind of a year-end cleaning. noticed my younger kid accidentally dropped a whole bunch of MF utility towels behind the dryer so had a fun time getting them out using my reach tool.

got about 2 inches of snow outside, not too bad. might go to run a few errands this pm in the GK with blizzaks. not sure. now relaxing in my music room with the AKG's on my head.

have a great sunday and xmas eve!

Just shoveled our little dusting of snow. It is still coming down, but I'd rather do a few tiny shovel sessions than one heavy one. Knocked out both of my neighbor's sidewalks too, a little extra work isn't a bad thing for me.
